79. Wake up people. This was no "accident". It's called being a junkie. These people have many Dr.'s on purpose and know full well the result of taking too many drugs in combination, that it can be fatal.

80. Like many others I was shocked and saddened at Heath's death, but this was in no way an accident. Unfortunatly it was pure stupidity on Ledger's part. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to all those he left behind. May he rest in peace.

Suicide is indirect (and not usually called suicide) when one does not desire it as an end or a means, but when one nevertheless commits an act which courts death.

82. i dont think heath committed suicide
but why does everyone think it is so impossible to love your kid and still committ suicide,there are parents all over the world who commit suicide everyday and they love their kids,they just hate something else,life,themselves,how they feel,who knows,one has nothing to do with the other when the slide starts to happen

83. It was accidental in that he intended to get high, not to commit suicide. And whether one ODs from heroin or the abuse of prescirption drugs is irrelevant. A junkie is a junkie is a junkie no matter what drugs they abuse. Ledger was a junkie.

84. Hydrocodone and oxycodone are painkillers. Diazepam is an anti-anxiety drug commonly sold under the brand name Valium; alprazolam is also an anti-anxiety drug, sold under such names as Xanax. Temazepam, sold under such names as Restoril and Euhypnos, is a sleeping agent, as is doxylamine.


I understand the insurance ramifications of this being termed an "accident" as opposed to a suicide, but doesn't this look like a suicide to all of you?

85. mm, I have many doctors. I also make sure that when I have prescriptions I make sure to check what I can take with what, which interact badly and which I shouldn't be taking at all. (Doctors don't always check so I do.) On the other hand, I am informed consumer because both of my parents worked in the health field. Not everyone is and many people don't think to tell their doctors everything.
To the person comparing oxycodone and Hydrocodone to morphine and heroin. DUH! THEY ARE ALL OPIATES.
As to all of the prescriptions, all of these drugs are Central Nervous System Depressants. You depress the CNS too far and you die. You stop breathing and your heart stops beating. Any doctor who prescribed any of these drugs at the same time deserves to lose his license.

I don't know what was going on his mind when he took these drugs and neither do you. It could easily be a case of fatal stupidity. That still counts as an accident.

86. To No.30 He may have been educated but not about medication. If you take a handful of those pills and half a bottle of whisky and whatever other drugs he favored at the time YOU WILL DIE. From a medical person. So sad for his family.

87. Dumb ass! He had everything going for him. He had a beautfiul little girl who is now fatherless and will in the future have so many issues because her dad was a moron. I do not get why these celebrities, like Heath and Britney, who have it all have to act like idiots and are depressed. They get the world handed to them and a few times a year they have to smile, shoot a film or sing at a concert. To top it off, they get a nanny and a house keeper to take care of their children and their home. Instead, most of us have to put in 40-60 hour days and then come home and take care of our kids. What losers.

88. I think it is very sad but, at least everyone can leave him and his family alone. They should apologize for stating that it was from hard drug's and all of the negative thing's they have said which is horrible. The family should be allowed to grieve he will be missed and his talent was amazing. I still think everyone who said it was from all that other stuff should publically apologize for jumping the gun to just say it was from other drug's because they can't wait to tear someone down. I feel so sorry for his daughter Matilda and my heart goes out to his family.

90. NORMAL PEOPLE WITH A BRAIN AND SOME COMMON SENSE ARE EVEN AFRAID OF COMBINING TUMS AND TYLENOL!!! COMBINING ALL THESE DRUGS AND CALLING IT ACCIDENTAL IS RETARDED AND EXTREMELLY NAIVE. HEATH WAS A DRUG ABUSER. END OF STORY. HIS ADDICTION WAS OBVIOUSLY MORE IMPORTANT THAN HIS DAUGHTER. HE KNEW VERY WELL THEY CAN KILL HIM. TYPICAL DRUGEE. RIP HEATH.
