Brit's Attorney Acknowledges He Can't Rep Her

TMZ just received the following statement from Brit's attorney Adam Streisand:

"At the request of Britney Spears, Adam Streisand, a Partner at Loeb & Loeb LLP, met with her yesterday to discuss her legal rights in connection with the conservatorship over her person and estate. Following that meeting, Mr. Streisand learned that the court had issued orders that prevent Ms. Spears from retaining counsel of her own choosing, and on that basis, Mr.Streisand has decided he will not represent her at this time."

With being of the "mother sorority", I agree with your words of wisdom! Those of you saying her parents should go away right now are not parents yourself or looking at the very large picture. Britney has children and, once a woman of any age embarks on motherhood, those children need to be protected in every possible way, i.e. mother needs to be protected so she and the resources are around on behalf of those little boys.

140. Even a murderer gets a lawyer paid for by the state.
FREE BRITNEY!

A court representative spent 15 minutes with Britney and determined she was mentally incapable of
handling her affairs and was not competent enough to hire a lawyer. Was that court representative
even a shrink qualified to make that kind of decision. Thank God Trope had Streisand
showed up to challenge the court and demand that an actual shrink make a proper determination.

Wow, she came damn close to losing her rights completely. Just hope Daddy doesn't drug her up
good before the court shrink has a chance to propertly evaluate her. He is desperate for control
he may try anything.

I hope Britney gets back control on Valentine's Day.

141. Basically , this was a show , adnan (got her to go) and drove her to adam s. office , so this lawyer could make a

false statement . She never wanted him in the first place -- adnan apparently did.

144. Oh geez......don't these guys ever tell the truth? He first went to see her in the hospital over the weekend when she supposedly "hired" him. (To fight the conservatorship of her father and Wallette) Then he was in court Monday when the Judge said she wasnt mentally competent enough to hire anyone. But now he says he just found out last night. Did he sleep thru the court proceeding? He probably just wanted the paps to get some pics of her going to his office last night. Cause the meeting absolutely was not necessary. He knew all this on Monday. Even her lawyers use her for publicity......

145. YOur parents could lie and say they saw you try to take a bottle
of pills and that you said you wanted to kill yourself. They call the
cops to come with the ambulance and you are held for 72 hours no matter
what. During that time they can run into the courts and show
that you are hospitalized, accuse your roommate or maid of
drugging you. NO PROOF REQUIRED and woo hoo they have control
of all your money. Wow, I never realized how easy it is.

One court investigator can show up in your hospital room unannounced
and spend 15 minutes with you and run back to the judge and
tell them you are looney tunes.

I think the system needs a wee bit fo tweaking.

146. Thank God her conservators have some rights! this guy may be a great lawyer but I agree she shouldn't be allowed to make any decisions right now until she has received much more psychiatric treatment than she has so far.

147. What a weasal!!! He's making it sound like he's being so honorable and not taking the case. If Britany walked into his office in her dyfunctional mental state before Jamie took over, he would have taken it in a heartbeat, charged her a lot of money and lost in court because the Judge could see she is in mental distress. Now he's trying to act like he's honorable.
It's not honorable - Jaime put an end to it before this guy had time to rip Britany off.

148. Sure her parents could lie, but so could she. So how do you handle that? A court rep doesn't know any of the people personally and well and they can't know for sure who is telling the truth. Britney has rights, and she has abused the hell out of them and other people's rights too, with her behavior. She is a danger behind the wheel of her car, she kept her baby locked in up with her for hours and probably terrified him, she's caused her neighbors to put up with disturbances, she has damaged expensive property, stolen, etc. She needs to be held in check and if it takes putting her in a hospital by force, then that's what needs to happen.

149. WHAT A LOAD OF BS. HE KNEW HE COULDNT REP HER.
The judge said so in the hearing he was at!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Go Papa. Keep all them free-press-wanting poops away from her.

BRING WASSER BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

150. 121, Brit had a say in her life for years -- she's 26 now. And she had a say in her life before that as her mother allowed her to be an uneducated, ignorant, spoiled, prima donna. And look at the state she got her life in. She deserves to have somebody control her very firmly. Whether it's legal or not, she deserves to have severe restrictions until her behavior becomes the intelligent behavior of an adult. But I don't see that happening. So one of these days all the death-wishers will be jumping for joy. She'll end up dead. That's how capable she is of running her own life.
