Brit's Family to Wasser: Come Back!!

TMZ has learned disso queen Laura Wasser paid a secret visit at the UCLA psych ward last Tuesday, and the family wants Laura back as Brit's custody attorney.

Wasser, who repped Brit in the divorce, quit the case -- we're told because Britney wouldn't listen to her. But sources say Jamie and Lynne want her back.

TMZ knows Jamie wants to 86 Trope and Trope as Brit's reps, in part because they have been chummy with Sam Lutfi. People at UCLA say Britney "lit up" when she saw Wasser. But there's a hitch -- we're told the deal will be sealed ONLY if Britney doesn't fight the conservatorship. As of Tuesday, she was fine letting Jamie call the shots, but it looks like that's changed.

If Brit accepts the conservatorship and Jamie is at the reins, Laura Wasser could be back in the Britney business.

151. aly...I so agree....if my kid was sick in hospital and asking me to see her, and I owned the business, I think I'd let my employees make the hot dogs for the party and go visit her instead! LOL.

156. Jamie is axxxxxxxx
You are making a complete fool of yourself. If you have children, they are in serious need of help from being around a person like you. FACE IT YOU NUT JAMIE & LYNNE ARE BRITNEY'S PARENTS & YOU ARE A NOTHING SO ALL YOUR RAGING IS USELESS. THEY WIN & YOU LOSE SO TEND TO YOUR OWN BUSINESS.

By the way, you sound just like one of the nuts that blogged for Howard K. Stern who were rounded up by his sister to try to salvage his reputation. YOU ARE SICK SO DON'T WORRY ABOUT BRITNEY BECAUSE YOU'RE WORSE OFF THAN SHE'LL EVER BE.

"Maria...You are wrong. Jamie's lawyer told the judge she was incompetent to pursue Streisand as her lawyer..."

Britney is under the control of a conservator. The fact that she is under the control of a conservator indicates that she is not competent to choose her own lawyer. Any lawyer. Doesn't matter which one it is.

The idea was running about that somehow, in some mystical and magical fashion, that it was assumed that Britney was competent to select Laura Wasser but NOT Adam Streisand.

I simply noted that no one had said that she was incompetent to choose Streisand, BUT competent to choose Wasser. I noted that Britney simply 'lit up' when she saw Laura Wasser due to the fact that she knows Laura and probably likes her.

It would be wonderful if Laura Wasser were back on Britney's team. She is an excellent attorney.

Britney cannot choose her own lawyer. Right now she is not competent to do so. Doesn't matter which one it is.

158. Tony Robbins? You've got to be kidding, Lynne! (in message #17) Britney might as well be with Dr. Phil.

159. To Diane T (msg #39): How has Adnan been helping Britney with her "grown-up problems"? He's the one who drove her around at 120 mph through L.A. and was making crazy and dangerous driving maneuvers that night soon before she was committed. That sounds pretty childish and dangerous to me. And the two of them are good at dealing with grown-up issues like hanging out in gas-station restrooms. Well, compared to Sam, Adnan seems fairly benign, but that's not saying much. If her family is in favor of him being in her life, maybe they figure that he's malleable and can therefore be rendered mostly harmless, and that he can help keep Britney in good spirits.

160. To alal (msg #45): The problem is that Britney's parents _were_ letting her try to grow up and were not controlling her for quite a while, and look what Britney has to show for it. Right now she's in dire straits and she needs control. It's sad that this is happening to a 26-year-old who should be able to live her life on her own, but desperate times call for desperate measures.

161. To ME (msg #49): Britney was not permitted to talk to Streisand by her father, who currently has the legal right to make those decisions because of the conservatorship. It's her mother and father who are talking to Wasser, and they have the right to do so.

162. To "drugs and sex" (msg: #63). Britney was released Against Medical Advice, which means that the "professionals" did _not_ think that she was competent enough to leave the facility, but they were forced by the law to let her go anyway. In California, it is very difficult to hold a person in a mental facility against their will. When there is a 14-day hold, the patient (in this case, Britney) has the right to appeal the detainment, and as long as she is minimally able to function in the world (can feed and clothe herself, has a place to go for shelter, etc.), then the medical people have to let her go. A representative of the court (not one of the UCLA doctors) visited Britney and determined that unlike when she was first admitted, Britney had gotten to the point where she understood her court-related issues, and he/she (the representative) said that there was no longer any reason to hold Britney. Beause of this and because Britney was appealing her 14-day hold, the doctors' hands were tied by California law, and they had no choice but to let her go -- but they did so labeling her release "Against Medical Advice".

163. To #83: Where do you get the idea that Adnan has the power to give a cut of Britney's money to anyone? He doesn't control one penny of her wealth.

164. Please just let Britney overdose and die. She's doing everything possible to die, so let's stop getting in her way with all the Lawyers, Doctors, Hangers-on and Sycophants of all sizes. Let it happen already. Please......
