Coroner: Renfro Overdosed on Heroin

In a sad conclusion to a tragic life, the Los Angeles County Coroner confirmed that actor Brad Renfro died from an accidental overdose of heroin.

The cause of death was ruled "acute heroin/morphine intoxication," and the drugs were injected, according to the coroner's office. "The final manner of death has been ruled an accident," the coroner reported. The 25-year-old former child actor was found dead in his L.A. home on January 15.

TMZ was at a court hearing last August when Renfro told a judge he was trying to get his life back together and get clean. He had been scheduled to return to court on February 27 for a status check.

76. Some of your posts lack so much logic I don't even know where to begin.

A death is an accident when it cannot be proven beyond a reasonable doubt that a person intended to kill themselves. The person must manifest some type of intent to kill themselves. Conclusive evidence of intent to commit suicide would be items such as a suicide letter, conversations made to friends or family members that in which reasonable objective person would conclude as being an expression of intent to commit suicide, etc. Otherwise, when it cannot be proven beyond a reasonable doubt that a person had the intent to kill themselves, we cannot call it suicide, and thus, it must be categorized as an accident. Keep in mind that even a 'reckless' act or 'negligent' act is insufficient to prove intent to kill oneself. Therefore for purposes of classification as to manner of death or under the law (such as when life insurance companies must prove beyond a reasonable doubt that a person intended to kill themselves and not merely an accident for purposes of paying the beneficiary), a heroin overdose would be considered an accidental death.

77. When will young Hollywood learn? How many Brad Renfro's, River Phoenix's, Dana Plato, Chris Farley's, John Balushi's And Heath Ledgers do we have to lose in order to shake up these guys (though with Heath it was *accidental* the amount used was too excessive) WAKE UP guys ... drugs isnt the high you once found, it was your craft that gave you that *high .... Find THAT high again - its obvious - DRUGS KILL!

78. Brad Renfro's acting career had two extremely eerie foreshadowings of his death. First, his entire performance in Tart as an overprivileged downward-spiraling drug addict hardly required acting. Second, The Jacket two years ago had a scene at the end where Adrien Brody is talking about death and the camera skips to Renfro, it's totally spine-tingling to watch it now.
