You Take the Good, You Take the Bad

The 81-year-old grandmother of two resurfaced at a hospital parking lot in West Hollywood last week, looking pleasant.

To bolster ratings in 1985, producers had Mrs. Garrett's bakery, Edna's Edibles, destroyed and replaced by the Over Our Heads gift shop. Rae left the series the following year.

Charlotte's mother was a childhood friend of late Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir.

151. Mrs Garrett looks great for her age. I loved her as an actress and comedian. Too bad they don't have shows like they used to.

153. Her face may have lined but her gentle expressive eyes are still as kind as they were then. She is a great character actress, and I miss the stars and celebrities of her generation who conducted themselves with class. She never took her celebrity for granted. These "stars" today are no more then leeches, they suck the public dry and we the public are so desperate and hungry for someone to respect, think that it is these hiltonkimorahlowhannspears etc. simply because of their money and not their quality as a person, or mediocer talent. What have they done for you???? Nothing. But you will wear save for and wear Sean JeanbabyphatphatfarmgunitHillfiger clothes Drink 50 cents vitamin water - and contribute to their child's inheritance and college fund but WHAT have they contributed to the global or even local community (besides just by just dealing to it). We hold them up but they suck us dry. Bless you Charlotte Rae and thank you for the classy way in which you conducted your craft

155. Awwww.... she looks amazing for her age! I love the Facts of Life! She played a wonderful Mrs. Garrett. I am glad to hear she is doing well. I hope she stays around a lot longer. It would be cool if she got back into the entertainment business. They need 2 re-air the Facts of Life on TV. I miss that show & they only have the first few seasons out on DVD. Love ya Charlotte Rae :)
