Britney Wants Ahnuld to Help Her?

Britney Spears wants to talk to the Governator about her "civil rights" -- but does she really need his help getting legal assistance?

TMZ reported earlier this week that Spears has enlisted disso-queen Laura Wasser to help her out, but Gatecrasher reports that her not-really-manager Sam Lutfi is trying to get through to Gov. Schwarzenegger to make her legal woes go away. "Britney says her civil rights have been violated and she wants to talk to Arnold about it," says a source.

Of course, keep in mind that it's Lutfi who is making the contact, and he's persona non grata in the Spears fray right now.

Heidi Cried All Night After Video Hatred

Heidi Montag found out the dark side of publicity whoredom, and it made her cry herself to sleep.

After reading the scathing slams of her "music video" for "Higher," Heidi tells Us that she "just started sobbing uncontrollably ... I just couldn't understand why people I didn't even know felt the need to be so cruel and hurtful toward me."

Good thing Heidi's got Spencer Pratt to buck her up: He says he held her and said, "This is just part of being an artist. If it were easy, everyone would be a pop star." That's the most brilliant thing he's ever said.

Party Favors: Miley and Dad Apologize for Belt Boo-boo ... Rihanna Celebrates at Les Deux ... Robbie Williams Nonplussed About Neighbor Paris

Miley Cyrus and daddy Billy Ray are apologizing for not buckling their seat belts in the "Hannah Montana" concert movie while riding in an SUV. "We got caught up in the moment of filming," says B.R. to People. ... Rihanna celebrated her 20th birthday at Les Deux Tuesday night with Kanye West, Wilmer Valderrama and rumored boytoy Chris Brown, who sang to the Umbrella songstress. ... Robbie Williams recently discovered that Paris Hilton has a new house five doors down from him, and he's not very happy about it, says the Sun. "I think it's safe to say Robbie will not be popping round to her house for a cup of tea."

17. Does anybody understand what Britany is talking about when she says her civil rights. Who has violated them? What does
she mean? Does anyone want to guess at what she is talking about?

19. Val:

As for what she's talking about: she's an adult who has other adults controlling her life and her money. Even though she hasn't been declared mentally unfit, she's a 26-year-old who has no say in her own life. That's a clear violation of her civil rights.

People at this site argue that her parents know what best for her, etc.; but that's beside the point. She's an adult; she hasn't been declared mentally unfit; hasn't committed any crime; and yet has no access to her finances, and can't even decide who she can associate with, and can't even hire her own lawyer to fight this thing! That's a violation of her civil rights.

22. I love the way people try to "sugarcoat" negative feedback...maybe the reason everyone slammed Heidi's video is because it REALLY sucked and she displayed zero talent!!

23. In the words of Arnold himself " Hasta la vista baby"

Sam Lutfi needs to just climb back under the rock he slithered out of. And, give up the leaching from Britney act!

You don't have to be "mentally unfit" to have a conservator. You simply have to be unable to manage your own affairs. The law is designed to prevent you from being a victim.

Anyone who wants Britney to be back on her "own" at this point is encouraging her to be a victim again.

25. This is just Sam spreading what he knows best to spread. The question is how, exactly, if he is not supposed to have contact with Brit, does he know she was thinking of this? Not to mention how stupid it is. I hope & pray her Dad gets a continuence of the conservatorship today. No Way is Britney ready to go it on her own. BTW, anyone know who Adnan was with yesterday - the women who were not Britney?

26. Inspector Gadget:

"You don't have to be "mentally unfit" to have a conservator. You simply have to be unable to manage your own affairs. The law is designed to prevent you from being a victim."

Gosh, sounds like we need to be appointing "conservators" to all of these Hollywood startlets who are screwing up their lives. Unfortunately, that's not how the law works (at least, not in a free society). To have ones freedom and finances confiscated (and they have been confiscated), there has to be cause. Just making bad decisions is not cause. And, if it here, one can only imagine the abuses of that that would occur.

"Anyone who wants Britney to be back on her "own" at this point is encouraging her to be a victim again."

You're missing the point. The point is that she has a right to make her own decisions. Whether you, me, and the rest of the world thinks her parents make better decisions for her is beside the point. Having one's rights to decide things for one's own life taken away without a medical reason is a violation of one's civil rights.

30. Neil, this was Lufti "claiming" Britney wants control back. We haven't heard from Britney just the man who was trying to control her before the court stepped in.
