John Mayer ran into a few TMZ employees and their friends last night at Katsuya, and instead of running and hiding like most celebs would, he pulled up a chair, shot the s**t and sucked back some sake with our crew!

And although I've never heard that re-make... He's such a gifted musical genious, that I can't honestly see him not doing it justice. And I've seen and heard sound bites from him, he DOES seem cool and FUNNY!!!! You are probably jealous, because some other former band geek stole your girl!
