Frédéric Prinz von Anhalt (born circa 1943) is a German-born socialite, best known as Zsa Zsa Gabor's ninth husband, and her longest-lasting marriage.

Prinz von Anhalt was born as Hans Robert Lichtenberg (other sources state Hans-Georg Lichtenberg) near Bad Kreuznach, Germany. The son of a German police officer, he was adopted in 1980 by Princess Marie Auguste of Anhalt (1898-1983).

Her first marriage was to Prince Joachim of Prussia, the youngest son of German Emperor William II. Prince Joachim committed suicide in 1920 after four years of marriage. She subsequently (1926) wed Johannes-Michael Freiherr von Loën, whom she divorced in 1935.[1]

Upon his adoption by Princess Marie Auguste of Anhalt, Lichtenberg took the name Frédéric Prinz von Anhalt; he is also known as Frédéric von Anhalt. The adoption and name change did not confer any title or nobility, though this is often assumed by various media outlets unfamiliar with the technicalities of the adoption and which, therefore, frequently refer to him incorrectly as a prince. Prinz von Anhalt is his surname, rather than a title, as per German laws regarding the country's former nobility. In addition to long-standing conventions prohibiting the transfer of German titles to adopted individuals -- except for individuals who are blood relations adopted by another relative -- the Anhalt family does not include Frédéric Prinz von Anhalt as a member. Please keep in mind his "adoption", if you read this carefully, was well after he was 50 years old.

STOP REPORTING ON HIM, Alli Sims, the cast of the Hills, etc, and whatever others c-f list "celebrities" you can dredge up eating "by chance" at trendy restaurants or hanging out at trendy bars/lounges/clubs, it isn't interesting and you might as well just not write the articles at all. I'm sorry that you've completely ruined Britney Spears' life and so have little more work to do there, and Lindsay Lohan, the Olsen twins, Paris Hilton and other standard page-six fodder have been seemingly quiet lately but that is no excuse for shoddy stories about nobodies.

I'd MUCH rather listen tp Prince VonAhole..& learn from him...also worth a good belly laugh than to have to see another brit-brit outing and hear you lunatics SCREAMING "britney, britney, you look beautiful" on my pc speakers i have to turn off & see nothing but flashes & lousy pics of her too!

25. I was an EMT for many years and every time I hear this, I wince. I never unstrapped a dead body from would have been a survivable accident, but I have pulled plenty of dead, unstrapped bodies out of even somewhat minor looking accidents. I know that many older people have this belief and grew up with it, but now that they are older, they are at even more risk. Oh well, /rant.
