Gossip & Rumors
"Impossible" Chef Caught in Very Possible Lies

The hard-ass British chef who stars in Food Network's "Dinner: Impossible" is finding that spinning tall tales about one's background is no cakewalk -- and now the network says it's investigating his alleged misrepresentations. Oh, deah.

Robert Irvine has claimed all over the place that he'd helped design Prince Charles and Princess Di's wedding cake, among other things. But after an oddly thorough investigation by the St. Petersburg Times, Irvine admits he didn't really bake it -- or have anything to do with it ... and that's just the icing.

"It's unfortunate if Robert embellished the extent of his culinary experiences," said a Food Network rep. "We are investigating the matter and taking the necessary steps to ensure the accuracy of all representations of Robert on Food Network and foodnetwork.com."

Irvine had no further comment today.

46. He has proven he can do what he is paid to do. I'm wondering why anyone would do an expose on Robert Irvine period...he only does one show for Food Network. As for embellishing the truth, I'm not for that. Honestly should be forthcoming. He apparently has done some of the things he has stated, but just enhanced somewhat.. however...Food Network primarily looks at the ENTERTAINMENT value of its shows, not the actual expertise.I'm sure the people making the decisions at Food Network has fudged their resumes a little too.(Those goofy judges on The Next Food Network Star )I hope it all gets straighteded out because Robert is quite likeable on his own and even more so with Paula Deen.

48. He doesn't look older than 40 - which would have made him - well, somewhere around 11 to 13 when princess Diana married. He may have licked the beaters!!!

52. Loser!! Have you seen the intro to his show???? Who hasn't he cooked for.....I guess his thinking was, make the lie so over the top that it has to be true? WTF, Scripps Network couldn't do a quick background check on this guy? I mean come on, he claims to have been both a White House chef and cooked for the Queen of England. How many guys in the market really have those chops? Apparently not this this necked, slow witted dolt. Back to the diner slinging hash browns you moron!

Peace!!

55. Food Network doesn't have a biography up for him. They have one for every other host. I'm guessing they pulled it down. Ouch!
