"Impossible" Chef Caught in Very Possible Lies

The hard-ass British chef who stars in Food Network's "Dinner: Impossible" is finding that spinning tall tales about one's background is no cakewalk -- and now the network says it's investigating his alleged misrepresentations. Oh, deah.

Robert Irvine has claimed all over the place that he'd helped design Prince Charles and Princess Di's wedding cake, among other things. But after an oddly thorough investigation by the St. Petersburg Times, Irvine admits he didn't really bake it -- or have anything to do with it ... and that's just the icing.

"It's unfortunate if Robert embellished the extent of his culinary experiences," said a Food Network rep. "We are investigating the matter and taking the necessary steps to ensure the accuracy of all representations of Robert on Food Network and foodnetwork.com."

Irvine had no further comment today.

76. Big freakin deal! Rectard Ray lied and sucked major d**k to get on the food network. Sandra Lee continues to lie to this day about her backgrounds... WHO CARES.

If they want to oust Robert, then they need to chuck those other two yahoos who have nothing more to contribute than how to open a 10,000 mg of sodium seasoning packet and a box of chicken stock.

GET A LIFE, LEWZERS!

77. #85...LArry, I love men, just hate Chefs. They are arrogant, conceeded, and liars. I work with them to this day and still roll my eyes everytime they try to brag about something they did. Breakfast in bed? Never had it. Chefs work late hours, sleep all day, and hate to cook at home. They like to go out on thier days off and demand that McDonalds be a 5 star, and go to a 5 star restaurant and complain that they can do it better.

79. I'm from the UK and I've never heard of this bloke. No wonder he skipped over the pond and is trying his luck with you guys. Obviously didn't have enough talent to make something of himself here.

84. Rachel Ray lies all the time. She's not really a cook. She only started doing it to make money and it wasn't always a passion of her's. I didn't believe Robert when he said he baked Princess Di and Prince Charles' wedding cake. It was so random when he said it and he said he doesn't do any baking.

85. Oh, leave him alone. If that airhead Rachel Ray can pretend she's a cook in her Betty Crocker play kitchen and make millions at it, then why single this guy out.
Have to run....Rachel is making homemade lasagna using 25 canned ingredients! Yummo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

89. " most people are liars,,,whacha gonna do?" ?????????
What kind of an attitude is that? Very sad. Is not complacency one of the big problems today? Expect more , get more. Aparently this person was never held to a highter standard as a child or as an adult, or has become tragically disillusioned and jaded. Obviously he is not someone whose word I would trust.

90. I love his show, I also get a kick out of watching him. If what happened here in any way jeopardizes his show, I will be very disappointed.
