Gene Simmons to Sex Site: Suck My Copyright!

Gene Simmons' legal team has taken an ingenious first step in shutting down a website featuring a video that shows Gene in a sex act with a woman who is not his longtime girlfriend, Shannon Tweed.

We're told Gene's lawyers contacted Webmastercentral.com, which is responsible for the content on the website promoting the video -- ordering them to cease and desist because of copyright infringement. How, you ask, is this copyright infringement? Gene's lawyers claim the site had no right to use face paint to promote the skin flick, because face paint is a KISS thing.

And now we're being told, the tape is old and the copyright owner is ... drum roll ... Gene Simmons! Apparently, Gene got wind of the tape a few years back and bought the rights. Who's the apprentice now?

BTW, the tape was shot without Simmons' permission or knowledge -- and may well be illegal. That's why TMZ hasn't run it.

52. Haven't seen the video yet, but it was just a matter of time for something like this to come out regarding Gene. And I wouldn't be surprised if he did find a way to make money off of this, if he hasn't already. He'd sell dog crap if he could get it shaped in the KISS logo. Now, if the tape was of his gorgeous son Nick, I'd pay money to see that. Hell, Gene would probably slap a price tag on that too!

53. Sorry, this guy seems to me to be the 70's version of 60's parody swinger Austin Powers. As OUT as those platform boots he and KISS are still wearing.

I realized the premise of his reality show was, "hey, I'm not a mumbling, shaking basket case like Ozzy, and my kids aren't wrecks. I"M a BUSINESSMAN. Well, stamping KISS on everything he can isn't a businessman to me. He's appealing to KISS's core audience of 12-16 year old boys for life. It's like the franchising of other cartoons, Star Wars, Batman, Spiderman, Power Rangers. He won't be stamping KISS on things they can really use now, KISS Polident, KISS Geritol, KISS Depends diapers, because he doesn't want to remind them, and THEY don't want to know how old they are now.

56. I saw a bit of that tape and I have to say, HE CANNOT F--K. He seems like a selfish lover. He just stood there barely moving and when they changed positions, he just had a semi...Poor Shannon. He never would have supposedly had 4500 women if he wasn't a rock star.

Just as I thought - a desparate grab for publicity by a fat, aging has-been. He thought he had a paying gig on celebrity apprentice but that feel through...he's gotta find some way to make a buck.
