Obama and Vanilla Ice -- Together At Last?

Barack Obama has been dogged with accusations that he's stealing stump speech material from Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick, including his famous slogan "Yes, we can."

Several observers have pointed out that one of Obama's chief policy advisers used to work for Patrick, but as this hot-off-the-YouTube video suggests, maybe he's better off using a certain early '90s rap sensation -- if he really wants to convince the people that he's not a plagiarist.

77. Michelle Obama is less qualified to be 1st Lady than my dog. Do we really want a 1st Lady that says things like:

"let me tell you something..." & "That's a trip" & "Fa real" & all the many "blackisms" she says ? Add to that the husband who always sounds like he preaching in a pentacostal church......I can't stand it. What a turn off !!!!!!!!! CAN YOU JUST IMAGINE 4 YEARS OF THAT CRAP !!!!????!!!!!!!!

80. Rave44--- your joking right!!! John McCain wants to keep our soldiers in Iraq indefinetly how MUCH MORE TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS IS THAT GOING TO COST? McCAIN wants to continue the tax breaks for the riches Americans, how much billions is that going to cost?! We are already bankrupting our country, and heading for a recession under the current government, and John MCcain is NOT GOING TO CHANGE ANYTHING. He will continue down the same path as George Bush.
Getting our soldiers out of a war they should never have been in, will already be saving this country LIVES, as well as trillions of dollars. Which can better be used to take care of the people of THIS country. How many Billions has gone missing in Iraq?! Money that was supposed to have helped rebuild Iraq has vanisheds into thin air, and no one is investigating it, it is just business as usual for the Bush White house, who are use to having money go missing, and use to people lying to cover up the truth, AND McCain wants to continue this... to have trillions of dollars leaving our economy to be stolen, and to have no one have to answer for it.
The fact is that If we do not look after the people in our own country, people who are the ones who will stand up for us and fight for us when it is needed, than what is the point. We are supposed to educate our countries children properly, so that we can compete with China, and India, and not have to depend on these countries to create the technologies we need to keep make our country work, and to keep our country safe.
We have to invest in the health of Americans, we are spending billions building infrastructure in countries such as Iraq, and Afganistan, and Africa, so that people can get medical care, but here in our own country, of America, people cannot afford to go to the doctors, cannot afford to take their children to the hospital.
We have to want better for our own American people, these are the people who will defend this country when we need them. And this is what Obama wants for this country to look after the American people, first and foremost!!!

81. sillyme,

I actually agree with you. We are black, my husband is a top tier executive at a bank in NY with a 7 figure salary. We live in a multimilliondollar community. All of my family, and friends assume we should LOVE Obama and vote for him BECAUSE OF HIS SKIN COLOR. They consider us traitors for being Republicans. Why can't we idolize JC Watts, or Allan Keys, or Roy Innis. Why must everything be about race. The guy is not experienced. PERIOD.

82. Blah blah blah. who the hell cares? it doesn't matter who we elect for prez, whether it be a black dude, a screeching white be-och, or a creepy little white willie. In a few years this country will need to change our name to the United States of Mexico. 'Nuff said.

86. Lilarose...As you know there was a day when women had to go back ally's for abortions and many died. There was time when birth control info could not even be shared with women. It was against the law. Can you imagine. Most were having so many children that they were dying from their bodies giving out. We will never go back to those days. The good news is that the abortion rate is down. If you talk to many who say they are pro life you will find are also opposed to birth control. I believe it is a control issue more than anything...nothing to do with caring for the unborn.

88.
Laura, all those things you wrote about in your post in favor of Obama are very good things.

But may I please respectfully ask you a question please:

What about the unborn babies?

Who is going to look aftr them?

Certainly NOT Obama who is pro-abortion and thinks it's not only okay to MURDER unborn babies in the womb, but apparently he thinks it's okay to kill a baby that was born alive after an abortion procedure.

Don't you think us Americans especially the leader of our country should want to protect first those who are most vulnerable and who can't defend themselves - the unborn babies, the young, the handicapped, and our elderly? Doesn't it start there?

Also, Laura what do you think about Obama not saluting the American flag?

There is a video of Obama, Hilary Clinton, and others circulating around the internet. Hilary Clinton and others are saluting the flag during the Pledge of Allegiance. Obama on the other hand just stand there and doesn't salute.

What does that tell us about Obama? Should someone who refuses to salute our flag be our next President?

I don't think so!

Laura, I'd really love to hear your opinion on these topics please.

Thanks!

May God Bless you.

89. #61, just because a candidate says on his web site that these are the things he wants to do, it doesnt' mean he's going to do them, or that he even can do them. We're in a democracy, remember, not a dictatorship? There's no way he can carry out all the things he has listed on his Web site. No way. Have you even looked at our economy lately? The money is just not there for the kinds of reforms he wants to make, unless he's going to double what we all pay in income taxes, which would not be surprising, cuz that's what Democrats do. But, I think it shows how little grasp he has of the economy, and that's what frightens me about him. We're already in deep trouble, and, instead of being realistic and telling Americans we're going to have to suffer a little to get to the point where the economy is in better shape, he's making promises that he will NOT be able to keep. Even when he says he'll be the president who gets us out of Iraq, he shouldn't even make that promise, because he doesn't know what will happen and how things will change if he becomes president. He's making promises he can't keep, but he's got a great audience in the gullible, believe anything Americans, always looking for the quick, easy fix. It's just really said. I want to hope, and I want to dream, too, but wishing and hoping and saying yes, we can, is not going to change anything.

90. Quote #1: Governor Deval Patrick gave an interview to the NY Times stating that he and Barack Obama talked about the speech BEFORE it was given and Governor Patrick gave his permission for Obama to use elements of his speech. He also stated that he asked Obama NOT to credit him.

Quotes #2, 3, 4, 5: These are not Governer Patricks words. Both men are quoting JFK and MLK from their famous speeches. Do you really want to call every politician who uses those great speeches as motivation a Vanilla Ice wannabe? Give me a break.

You are grasping at straws here. Stick to what you know TMZ:

1. Britney's kids
2. Birtney's drug habit/illness
3. Birtney's crotch
4. Paris' crotch
5. Paris' dogs
6. Celebrities giving the middle finger.

Don't you realize that the world cares so much more about a movie stars pubes than the leader fo the free world? C'mon Get with it.
