226.

It's just typical isn't it. Prey on the victim.
It's far too simple to blame it on celebs. Maybe he's mad because they obviously can't control the situation.
Get your boys to carry on with the creativity of the other day and keep up consistency and I'm sure they will at least have to start thinking abotu HOW they are hounding if they keep missing exclusives because they are tied up by red tape.

227. Okay that sounds like something the LAPD would say....So once the paps stop chasing Brit(and evetually they will) they will find a new target to chase and that person should stay home and if London PO PO would have just told Di to stay home...Find solutions to the problem not dumb F#@k fixes LAZEEE PD

228.

IF HE HAS LAWS COMING OUT OF HIS EARS THEN WHY DOESN'T HE USE THEM???

229. I can not recall ever having heard anything so assinine from a police chief. Bless his little poor overworked heart and team of fascists thugs in uniform; they can't help that the celebrities in LOS ANGELES make more work for him by being so damn famous and allowing their pictures to be worth so much money. GET OFF YOUR POMPOUS ASS AND PROTECT AND SERVE EVERYBODY YOU LAZY SANCTIMONIOUS PENCIL PUSHER!!!

230. Stay home? Is this officer for real?! So all famous people should forgo a normal life so that paparazzi low lives don’t cause a problem? Oh, and the paparazzi should cover more important events, yea, that will happen. I can just see hoards of paparazzos trading in trailing celebrities for a bulletproof vest and a armored vehicle in Iraq. A shot of Britney pays big bucks, but being shot at in Iraq pays little I'm afraid. I sure wish he had asked the drug dealers, thieves, and assorted other criminals to stay home. Wouldn't that solve a lot of problems too officer? What a waste of airwaves this interview was...

231. i cant believe this officer has just said all that! stay at home? eh everyone deserves a life for f*** sake!!! lazy idiots asking for less work that is all!!! he is going to get himself in serious s*** for saying all this on air and he defo deserves it!!

232. Wow..no beating around the bush there.I personally think it's an idiotic statement, why should celbs be forced to remain in their home?

233. A petition should be started to fire or recall William Bratton!

Where do we start this process?

It is obvious he would rather put a bandage on the problem rather than find a cure! Why is it hard to enforce laws about out of control Paparazzi endangering the public by jay walking, illegal driving, trespassing,etc...?

Bratton has been on the government payroll too long to think his inappropiate comments wouldn't be said without consequences!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FIRE BRATTON!

234. Frankly, I think she needs to be locked away in a mental hospital. I'm sick and tired of these stupid, moronic, self-absorbed skanks getting the paps all worked up every time they go out for coffee. But, of course, when the so-called celeb calls the press to cover her EVERY time she goes out, we shouldn't feel sorry for her. She is past her prime and whatever talent she may have left, as far as I'm concerned, you can put it in the trash. Her father should haul her back to Kentwood and lock her away far back in the bayou.

235. I have a few questions for Harriet and Sarah the RNs that work with the mentally ill.

1) Is what she's going through normal for "bipolar" and is it really bipolar.

2) Could her psychotic disorder have been caused by drug misuse or pregnancy...

3) and what is really wrong with her

4) and do people that suffer with this stuff always wear loud colors and wear things that make no sense, you know pink wigs and bright red lipstick. and what is going through their head when they put this stuff on?

to comment, if you're sick like they say, then the streets are not a place for you. The Chief was out of place, but so is Britney.

236. ABOUT TIME SOMEBODY SAYS SOMETHING ABOUT THIS CIRUS. SHE SHOULD GO FAR FAR AWAY FOR A WHILE.SHE SHOULD SEE HER KIDS BEFORE SHE GOES.

237. How dare this idiot tell Brit to stay locked her house to stop his problems with the paps - they'll still be parked outside of her home and every other stars because photos of her and the others sell!!! You'll just be getting calls from her neighbours you idiot - these stars bring the money to LA, you to have a large cop force to deal with protecting them as well as the public where would your budget be without them I wonder?! How many people, other than residents would be in LA if it wasn't famous for its stars?!
One thing I am against though is the way the stars never get prosecuted for their crimes in the same way as normal people - they don't pay tickets, they don't do much jail time - if any - for crimes most normal people would have to serve time for! It's time to start arresting and charging, sentencing these stars to time for the crimes they commit even if its just a traffic violation, there should be no difference between the stars and the man on the street - if you don't charge them they will never, ever have to face the consequences of their actions until they kill someone and maybe not even then!

238. I agree with the Chief 100% and admire his guts to say this knowing there may be backlash from human rights activists.

What good is it to pass a law to protect Britney - when she can stop the problem by not drawing so much attention to herself when she goes out.
Like ride in the back seat of a tinted window SUV, get her food and medications delivered, hire a personal shopper and assitant to run her errands, + stop wearing a pink wig and no panties!

If you pass a new law, it will cost lots of money to enforce - including paying cops to follow Britney and arrest the paps + court costs to convict the paps. Taxpayers' dollars and Police resources are better spent on catching real criminals, robbers, murderers, etc. - not wasted trying to arrest people taking pictures.

239. I understand where the chief is coming from and I don't thinks it's an idiotic statement, it's just one that can't be inforced. He knows that the conservatorship will end eventually and is afraid that Britney will return to her daily life of going to the gas stations 3 times a day, Starbucks 2 times a day, shopping at photogs friendly store 2 or 3 times a day, speeding on the expressway at 80 or more miles per hour with the photogs chasing at high speeds, and stopping in the middle of traffic with droves of photogs surrounding her car and blocking other citizens from moving smoothly and safely. He knows eventually someone will get seriously injured or killed because of the cozy relationship (cat and mouse game) that will evenually continue unless her father Jamie is around to watch her for the rest of her life and prevent certain low people from re-entering her life. So yes, she's ok right because of her dad but what happens when she get her life back? That's why he's speaking out now. They don't want to live with that madness (circus). I'm happy to see her doing so well thanks to her loving father that most people made fun of and put down. Things are great now but the real test will come when she has control over her own life again. The chief warning is preparation of that time and his warning if in advance of the inevitable.

240. Why should she have to stay home? I understand that the second she steps outside the paps are all over her but she should not have to stay inside her home to be left alone. A judge should issue a restraining order to keep all paparazi 2000 feet from Britney Spears. How would you like it if you were 26 years old and were never aloud to leave your house.....Common she is not in prison. If you are held in your home against your will alone and bored, that is not living.
