The chief was on with Patt Morrison on 89.3 KPCC-FM radio Wednesday when he was asked about proposed legislation designed to curb the paparazzi. Check out his response.

242. FINALLY! Someone who has said something intelligent! I wish this menace would stay the hell in her house! She thrives on the swarming paparazzi and calls them for Christ's sake to tell them where she is going. She is a danger not only to her children, but to the drivers of LA!

243. Do you people think its actually a POLICE officer's job to go around protecting a star from papparazzi when she could just as easily hire 10 body guards to surround her at all times? No, they are for protecting you when you are getting attacked, robbed, or otherwise violated. Now, if the paps actually did cause her physical harm, then yes the cops need to do something, but they haven't, and they won't because they aren't stupid and they know the law. The cops have murders to worry about, not whether a star feels loved.

244. Once the picture of her driving with her child on her lap came out, they should have taken her keys for life. I would not let my dog sit in front of an airbag. She acted like it was a cute "country" thing to do. I wish she would go live somewhere remote and people would forget about her. She is a celebrity, but she isn't talented.

246. This is messed up he says britt should stay home because they have to dispatch cops that tax payer s pay for since when is britt not a taxpayer? Or for that matter a citizen that has every right to leave her house when she feels like it. They need to take care of the paps britt is not the only one that they have to dispatch cops over what about tom and katie lindsey lohan or any other star when you see them you see cops too.
