Diablo Cody: Don't Pimp Me ... or my Feet!

Diablo CodyHer name's not Diablo for nothin'! Diablo Cody -- the "Juno" screenwriter and former stripper is flaming hot at Stuart Weitzman for getting her in the middle of a publicity stunt she claims she wasn't aware of.

Every year, Weitzman makes a pair of "Cinderella" shoes to be worn at the Oscars by a rising female star. This year he chose Cody, and she agreed to sport the special shoes. Then she found out they were made with 1,800 Kwiat diamonds -- and worth a million-dollars!

Cody wrote on her myspace blog: "I'm actually really pissed about this, now that I think about it. They're using me to publicize their stupid shoes and nobody asked me. I would never consent to a lame publicity stunt at a time when I already want to hide. I'm sorry if I sound like a party-pooper, but Jeebus."

Maybe she wants to wear clear, six-inch Lucite heels instead!

67. Yeah, I can see how being asked to (unwittingly) wear a pair of million dollar shoes is a burden. I mean, Cody wouldn't want to feel used or exploited. But stripping for money in front of strangers - now that's fine. It gives Cody her "gritty realism", rags-to-riches cachet.
Seriously, I wish my problem was being asked to wear million dollar shoes to the f**king Oscars. To whine about it is just ugly and absurd. I grew up in Hollywood and I know lots of struggling writers and actors who would LOVE to trade places with her. Maybe she should just forgo the Oscars and go get a Bettie Page tattoo or something during the show.
I'm not knocking her screenplay or her talent. It does take discipline to finish writing anything. But I just find it laughable that so many of you think she's taking some kind of ethical stand by complaining about her diamond-studded shoes. She just thinks she's too alternative and hipster chic to wear 'em...gimme a break. Go cry in your soy latte and head back to Hot Topic, "Diablo." Blech!

72. I'm sure she is a talented writer, but she reminds me of someone who is trying to be ultra cool and at the sametime is immature. Her blog is about stupid hipsterness. (last year she was into posing while doing faux gang signs). Who cares. American trailer trash at its finest.

Her characters may be ordinary in status but in outspoken wit they shine.

would have been all she needed - what a loser, not a winner...
