Native Americans [and most hunter/ gatherers for that matter] held/ hold all living creatures in the highest respect.

Hunted animals were essential for survival, and always the hunter would thank the animal for sacrificing its life to further his own. Nothing would be wasted.

They did not/ do not kill for sport or fashion.

There is a world of difference between viewing animals as part of the natural food chain and the way in which 'cultured' folks have turned their death into an empty, meaningless, bloody status symbol.

I'm not defending PETA's tactics, I eat meat, but i would never wear something taken from an animal killed in the name of fashion.

81. What's so shameful about wearing animal fur? Our ancestors have sewn animal hides into clothing since ancient times, both full furred skins and bare hides, and I don't suppose campaigns to shame that ancient tradition began until after the invention of the cotton gin and the industrialization of cotton which made cotton growing profitable and gave birth to the cotton plantations and another slave labor. And even today, the garment industry still has a dismal reputation for inhumane "slave-like" labor practices. I think the shame of wearing animal hides as opposed to wearing other garments produced by inhumane slave-like labor is only separated by a few degrees. And I think the practice of wearing both manner of clothing is surpassed in shame by the shame of social disapproval and laws barring public nakedness.

I am all for getting back in touch with nature. Go naked!

What's so bad about wearing a rabbit foot? I bet your parents carried one on a keychain. That used to be popular in the 60's. And even today there a still a great many meat markets that process and sell game meat. So what's so terrible about having or wearing a keepsake rabbit's foot?
