PETA Rats Out Stone for Hideous Oscar Jewelry

Fur loving Sharon Stone could give a rat's ass about what she wears these days on the red carpet. Literally.
Sharon Stone
Stone showed up to the Elton John party last night wearing an actual rats paw as a broach. And of course, PETA has a few kind words for the animal killer. "Maybe Sharon, passed over by the Academy yet again, was jealous of Ratatouille's Oscar win and thought a rodent paw might go with her haggard look. Her accessories these days are as dead as her career." Meow!

121. that's not a rat paw you idiots, it's a grouse claw. a grouse is a bird that is eaten in britain and those brooches are literally everywhere there. they've been around forever. a rat paw? god, how stupid can you get?

122. She is a cruel skank constantly dripping in slaughtered animals. She is arrogant about it too. You morons who say it is someone's "choice" will only have a valid point the day animals get to say "yes, I would like to be slaughtered for you to wear/eat/experiment on" or "no, I would prefer you did not slaughter me to wear/eat /experiment on". I'm guessing the animal's "choice" would be to live their own lives for their own purposes. We enlightened humans have many alternatives to using animals. It's all about whether you are a decent person or a selfish piece of cr*p.

123. She's sick, gross, and a has been. No one should even give her any press. BTW, all you slobs out there always whinning about fat chicks, take a good look at her gut! It's a nice bloated complement to her sagging t*ts. Pay closer attention to details!

124. 3. Animals are here so that we can eat and wear them. It's been that way since the beginning of time. What would PETA have us do? Release all the animals and let the cows roam the streets free like in India? Come on, now.

I don't know about you, Donna, but I have never eaten a rat. That's a pretty big leap from PETA trashing on Stone's stupid tasteless choice of "jewelery" in the form of a rat's paw to letting all the animals and cows (apparently cows are NOT animals) run wild in the streets. Whether or not you like animals, or agree wtih Peta, wearing a rat paw as jewelery sounds pretty trailor trashy to me. "Heee-huck! Lookit I gots me a critter! I kin makes me some nice sparklies with this here rat!" *snicker*

On a side note: DAYUM! PETA was downright vicious in their letter, lol! I don't want those freaks after me; they're right up there with Scientologists on my Insane-O-Meter.

125. I saw her talk about this during an interview with E!...I thought to myself, "She is sick to need to command that kind of attention." She is weird and sick to wear that on her lapel. She knows people will think that of her when she does it, yet she does it anyway. (Parallels Britney Spears.)

I think a lot of these actors need attention, and when they don't get it, they turn to some other way to get it - parties, drinking, shopping, drugs. Look at that Prince A-Hole, nude in his car one day (photo on TMZ). What the heck is that? Then all of those celebs eating at The Ivy and Mr. Chow. Give me a break. There are a ton of fabulous restaurants in LA. These attention hogs/actors need to get a life outside their jobs. Maybe the audiences/viewing public is finally starting to realize that this industry is not all it is cracked up to be. THE OSCARS HAD THEIR LOWEST RATINGS EVER.

126. To all you people who think PETA sucks and should get flushed down in the toilet, and that animals are so utterly worthless in this world that the only use man has for them is to eat and wear them ..... your values system is so messed up, I don't even know where to start. I stick with Mahatma Gandhi "The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated."
Oh, and by the way...h'bout that Calvin + Hobbs cartoon from the nineties about the necessity of "thinning the (human) herd"? Go check it out!!

127. Okay, I can understand that the readers and TMZ thought the brooch was a rat's paw, because they were going on what PETA said... but think of this: Look at the size of it. If that's a rat's paw, it's a ROUS (Rodent of Unusual Size). It's a grouse's claw (which is still tacky IMHO), you've probably seen them on Scottish kilts before. My biggest problem is this: PETA, which is supposed to protect animals... has zero clue about the difference between rodents and birds! Talk about reactionary morons!

128. If you type "grouse claw" into Google Images, you'll see brooches almost EXACTLY like the one Stone is wearing. Like I said, they appear on traditional Scottish kilts, too.

129. 15. That there is a rabbit's foot. Silly city people.

Posted at 11:57AM on Feb 25th 2008 by Cletus

“Some folk’ll never eat a skunk, and then again some folk’ll, like Cletus, the slack-jawed yokel” It's not a rabbit's foot! Not even CLOSE! It's a GROUSE claw!

130. PETA is great and so are every single animal activist organization. Animals are not for us to wear. Unfortunately, people come up with explanations to justify why animals are ok to kill, such as they've been killed for food and clothes for hundreds of years. SO WHAT? Humans were wrong then and nothing will ever justify killing animals. As for Sharon Stone, she is a cruel haggard who's only claim to fame is for exposing herself. What a desperate talentless insenstive hag.

131. What a tacky old hag she really is! Ew!

133. its definitely a grouse foot, lame asses here and at TMZ, saying its a rat. when have you ever seen a furry rat paw???? the lack of common knowledge possessed by people here is stunning. AND lalalalalala, once again, youre lack of education shows thru... "blubonic plague"? Bubonic would be the word you're lookin for... frankly im surprised you knew enough to even mispronounce the word....

134. To #3 Donna - Get real. This is 2008. We are not Native Americans roaming the earth foraging for food and shelter. You need to realize that animals can think and feel and can also suffer. Their lives are equal to humans in terms of value. Sharon Stone is a thrill seeking publicity hound, who will do anything to get attention, regardless of the statement she makes. Her jewelery choice says she is a vapid, uncaring idiot.
