Shoe Guru to Diablo -- You Picked 'Em Out, Girl!

The shoe designer whom Diablo Cody slammed for trying to whore her out with a pair of million-dollar shoes (she says) is kicking back at the Oscar winner.

Stuart Weitzman tells TMZ that Diablo actually selected the shoes herself, even choosing diamond roses to adorn them! You can't get that at American Apparel!

"I have been making a special pair of shoes to be worn at the Academy Awards for a number of years. This year - more so than in any previous year - the lady who was given the opportunity to wear it was quite involved in the design process. Diablo Cody sent me examples of the type of shoes she liked and actually did the final selection herself, choosing a three-inch retro style T-strap as well as a changeover pair of ballerinas.

She chose to adorn the shoes with medium-sized diamond roses from three different sizes offered to her. Why she seems to be so surprised as to the attention being paid to her and these shoes, I cannot answer. It should certainly come as no surprise that a one-of-a-kind pair of shoes would generate excitement at the Academy Awards.

Regardless, what should matter is the fact that this talented woman won an Oscar this weekend. I offered her the opportunity initially because I so enjoyed her film, and I'm very happy for her success. I wish her all the best."

46. Her dress was hideous - and her giant tattoo was showing. I would not want my million dollar shoes on that outfit or on that woman.

47. She looked every ounce the stripper at the Oscars. And what a liar! Shouldn't bite the hand that feeds you Diablo. May she fade away soon and never be heard from again! Mr. Weitzman, find somebody with some class next year to wear your classy shoes in the Oscar tradition. Her movie sucked too. And what's with that Ellen Page girl (is that her name?) and that hair in her face all the time? Good grief - what passes for talent these days is unbelievable. Not impressed.

48. Isn't that the whole point of designers giving celebs stuff to wear for awards? Isn't that why all the reporters ask who they are wearing? It's the name of the game. She is kind of dim to think they would be offered to her for any other purpose.

49. Okay I got DAMN bored....and actually went to this chick's site. She must have a lot of time on her hand's after all that loves festing folk's giving her prop's for winning. I looked on purpose for at least ONE person saying she was wrong for assuming that this guy just pulled her name out of a hat and picked her to continue a tradation that was started a long time ago with the shoe's. I am celebrating what is left of my birthday and taking a nice long shot of patron for this bitch's 15 mins of fame to be over with a quickness by the time I sober up in the morning. Damn shame I really liked all the actor's and actresses in JUNO and kinda wanted to see it......anyone else have another movie to reccomend??? Sorry for misspelling's before the bashing begin's......
