TMZ caught up with Josh Lucas Tuesday afternoon, and he agreed that Brad Renfro got effed when he was omitted from the RIP reel.
He also says Roy Scheider shouldn't have been excluded either, but Roy's death on Feb. 10 was after Academy's cutoff date of Jan. 31 for use in the broadcast.

46. It does not really matter as Hollywood has lost all the glamour and class that it used to have. The awards were so bad and the ratings were the worst ever. John Stewart is so not funny. Hollywood gave most of the awards to people from other countries. How sad is that statement. We do not even support our own actors in the USA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Very depressing!

49. #52. then shame on them for honoring Heath Ledger, River Phoenix, et al. Do for one you must do for all. Perhaps they should revoke any posthumous honors for Kurt Cobain, Janis Joplin, Hendrix, etc. since they basically took their own lives as well including any mention in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame or any places like that. The suck as role models, too, and died by self-inflicted deaths.

52. The Academy website lists qualifications for mention in their Memorium Tribute. The person mentioned had to belong to the Academy. It is NOT an automatic thing. Brad Renfro was not a member, therefore not mentioned.
