Right now if a pap causes damage he has to pay 3x the damage amount. It's hardly enough - this doen't apply mostof the time. While people get mad at celebs for wasting polics time, dealing with paps on trespass or erratic driving violations would be just that - as the police cheif would have it. To have a law imposing a safety zone (with photo's illegal if taken in that zone) could actually work as a deterrent.

She is the one who created this frenzy around her with the paps, albeit while seemly under Sam's influence.

I certainly don't wish her death. Twenty-six is too young to die. I just think that she is the key to stop the frenzy.

I do see your point, Diane T. And do agree. I guess I took your comment from one angle only.

In the UK the public and politicians were all appalled about the Princess Diana incident. The situation for celebs is not as bad in the UK as in LA, but there's been no change to speak of. And I doubt there would have been if that tragedy happened in the UK itself.

There have been a lot of close calls for Britney though. The time she ran a red. The time she was in NYC with Shaun (nearly tripped). People are so busy criticising her at that time, that if they spent half their efforts also blaming the other cause in that situation, maybe others would start listening. Right now, politicians and police know that most will say it's her fault so they don't need to do anyting... much easier.

So if something does happen to her, they'll still point the finger at her and ten years after she's gone (can you believe it's 10.5 years since Lady Di dies) people will still talk about why nothing was done before.

83. Some people are really retarded! "Poor Britney" "It must suck to be her" Geez. Do you know how many take-out food places there are in LA? 23,912 and she has to go to the one of the 6 with paps. She lives for this. What I would like to see is a hidden cam of the paps taking a couple days off and her going to all those places without being "bothered by paps" and watch her implode. "Where are my minions?" A lot of celebrities live in the Beverly Hills area but you never see them. Why? Because they don't want to be seen so they go where the paps aren't around, an option open to Britney if the paps bother her. I saw a tabloid at the check-out lane at the grocery store today with a pic and headline "Britney's sister runs away from home" I wondered what fools read or even care about this crap. The same people who write some of these pathetic posts treating some has-been egomaniac twit like she's the second coming of Christ. Compare her to Miley Cyrus. My goodness, they are completely opposite. Just one a many examples: Miley Cyrus helps lost dogs; Spears can't think beyond herself. And talent - well, that's a no-brainer. Spears got by on promoting a Lolita image. Look where it got her.
