49. My thoughts and prayers go out to Larry's family and friends. It also goes out to Branden and his family. If someone would have taught him that being gay is ok, and they are no different than the rest of us than this would probably not have happened. I commend Ellen for bringing this issue to the surface.

52. This is really sad. It was so wrong for a child to be murdered by another child. but Ellen saying "Being gay is okay" is not true. It clearly states in God's word that homosexuality is a sin. Im not discriminating. I know many gay people and they are nicer than alot of straight people that I know. But homosexuality is still a sin. God created partnership to be with one man and one woman forever. America is so confused these days and it makes me really sad

57. being gay isn't a choice or a lifestyle, it's just the way someone is. why do people feel threatened by that? it's not like a gay person can hit you with a "gay stick" and turn you gay! the poor kid was probably led to believe by cruel classmates that the other boy actually was interested in him!

60. I think what probably happened is that Brandon got made fun of and accused of being gay because Lawrence hit on him. Now, I'm definitely NOT in ANY way, shape, or form suggesting that killing Lawrence was right or deserved, but I'm just wondering if that's why Brandon felt such a strong desire to kill Lawrence--to get revenge on the person who caused him humiliation. Obviously, this is a child who already had serious problems and I guess this was the last thing that finally him over the edge.

It's a very poor reflection on our society that a gay person hitting on a straight person is apparently so humiliating and offensive that a child would actually kill another child for it. And HOW exactly did this child get his hands on a gun in the first place? Why aren't more people asking THAT?!
