62. I agree. In this day and age kids should be taught tolerence, and how to graciously react to this type of situation. What a tragedy. I'm glad Ellen took the time to address this. This is coming from a right-wing Republican Party member who no longer lives in the Dark Ages. And no, I'm not a kiddy who doesn't know what I'm talking about. I'm over 40. Have seen this kind of inexcusable behavior my whole life. You know what? You don't agree with it, fine. That is your right and your civil rights freedom. Just don't overtly discriminate. Instead, act with class and graciousness and kindness, and certainly don't result to violence. Job discrimination, public discrimination, etc., should not be based on sexual orientation. Period.

63. I didn't know mental institutions had computers!! Some of you people have lost your damn minds. Even if you are just trying to be funny because guess what IT'S NOT! No matter what his sexuality was he was someone’s son, someone’s baby boy. That is horrible. I truly believe that gay people can't control who they are attracted to, something genetically or scientifically or whatever goes wrong and I'm not talking about someone like Tila Tequila I'm talking about a true gay person. Think about it who would want to deal with all the hate associated with being gay just for the sake of it, unless they truly couldn’t control it? This explains why gay men act and talk like woman and gay woman talk and act like men. I am not one to judge so I have no problem with gay people, what they do is their business but asking out a straight person wasn’t too good of a choice, though the boy could have just said no, but knowing teenagers and their egos and being embarrassed. I hope the idiot gets life so he can be someone’s b!tch! This is truly sad.

64. Let people live their own life. Some people live just to hate. They hate other races and homosexuals. If they dedicated their time to something of use then the world would be a greater place. I am a married male with three children. I am very proud of that. People should be able to be proud of who they are without the fear of being abused or murdered. Let people live and prosper.

65. Let's be thankful we live in a country where we can speak our minds like Ellen did and and we are enjoying now. Change only happens after someone SPEAKS up and draws attention to a problem, which is what she is doing. This women speaks from the heart in spite of her bosses, which has to cause problems, and I appauld her. To me she is a "real person up against the ratings" machine. People like her because she is so down to earth, but then there are those pesky ratings and media control. It's very hard to please everyone, but she comes close and that's why she is successful.

66. This is not the first time something like this happened. Some talk show host had a gay person on and then they were murdered for liking someone I have forgotten how the whole show came down. It was a few years ago. Lisa someone??? I am not saying it was right, the poor kid got murdered, not at all. I don't condone that anymore than I would condone any other inncocent person being killed for no reason. Point is it happens everyday all over the world.
