Other Driver in Hogan Crash Sentenced

The driver who several witnesses say was racing Nick Hogan the night of the crash that left a man severely injured was sentenced in a Florida court today.

22-year-old Daniel Jacobs was driving a silver Dodge Viper owned by Nick's father Hulk Hogan on August 26 in Clearwater, Fla.

Hogan, whose real name is Nick Bollea, was driving his yellow Toyota Supra when he lost control on slick roads and hit a palm tree. Passenger John Graziano, a good friend of Hogan's, was seriously injured in the crash and is still in a coma, suffering from permanent brain damage.

Jacobs admitted he was driving the Viper, but did not cop to racing. A judge sentenced Jacobs to 90 days probation and ordered him to serve 25 hours of community service. He also lost his license for 90 days and must pay a $500 fine.

Hogan is scheduled to be in court on April 14.

17. What a travesty of justice. Both these morons have takes a life and deserve punishment fitting to the crime - frontal lobotomies come to mind,

18. And then people wonder why kids behave the way they do ~ because there's no consequences, that's why!! That Hogan brat had better get something much stronger since he was driving the car that crashed and made his friend a living zombie. HE's the one that got the life sentence, not these other two that don't have a scratch on them. I'm just absolutely fed up with these young celebraties and celebuspawns getting away with things not one of us average Americans would nor should. If they are given all these special priviledges then they should be held to at least the same standard. What in the h*ll are these police, prosecutors and judges thinking???!!!

19. I clicked by the show a few times, I honestly thought Nick was functionally retarded. He has slow wit, cannot communicate effectively with adults, could not finish high school. Yet he is allowed to hold a Florida drivers license, WTF?

20. Juicy Lucy - The judges and police are ALL in the celebrities pockets. I'm positive that Florida judges and police commissioners, etc. were paid to look the other way and let Nick's friend get thrown under the bus, as it were. Money can't buy class (obvious by the way the Hogans carry themselves) but it can buy priviledges.

21. Oh...poor soul. He lost his license for a whole 90 days and 90 days probation.....the humanity, how can this go on. I mean he could be laying in the coma never to be the same again.

22. Nick Hogan has never fully owned up to the role he played in this mess. It makes me angry; I can't imagine how the family of his "friend" John must feel. The Hogans need to grow up.

24. This was not enough punishment. Ninety days of probation? Ridiculous. I hope for a far stiffer judgment for Nic's part.

28. As part of his sentence Nick should have to work in a facility such as the one his friend will be in for the rest of his life, and actually work full 40 hour weeks caring for these patients needs. Maybe then he'll finally see the condition his friend is in. Visiting once in a while for an hour just doesn't cut it. I honestly don't think he "gets it", you know what I mean? Now we find out that Hulk was screwing around with one of Brooke's friends. This family is seriously messed up. Hope the courts take note of the joke of these rich peoples lives when they do their assessment for sentencing. Prison would probably provide the stability Nick doesn't get at home!!! What a joke these people are. Money doesn't buy everything.

29. What Bull S--T the injured passenger and his family gets a life sentence

Posted at 9:45PM on Feb 28th 2008 by malibu barbie

30. Fave I agree with you about Nick working at a facility but I think he should have to take care of his friend 16 hours a day 5 days a week for the rest of the man's life. And when his life ends then Nick needs to be sentenced to a facility to care for others for the rest of his life. Not allowed to have a license and let mommy and daddy be held accountable also in addition to Nick if he does not fullfill this obligation since he was under 18 at that time. He should never be aloud to have vacation because this young man sure can't enjoy that luxury. So whatever this young man can't do Nick shouldn't be allowed to do either. He took his freedom not by choice so Nick should loose his freedom as well.
