Warning: TMZ Causes Cancer

Sure, we dish it out, and we can take it too -- but Illeana Douglas definitely crossed a line when she walked around Hollywood last night with a sign reading, "TMZ causes cancer. Stop filming celebrities, start filming poverty."

The irony -- or we're hoping, the point of this gutless stunt -- is that Douglas was at the premiere of and supporting the new season of "Dirt," the FX series starring Courteney Cox, which is all about filming celebrities.

63. Harvey runs an ENTERTAINMENT site, folks. ENTERTAINMENT. You have your targets confused. Write your congressmen. Governor. News stations. Senators

ok thanks for giving me another point. Um it's not even that entertaining that's the problem! Lately they put any old shotty, snotty, 1/2 brained comment next to a story that really doesn't need coverage and then they do it in a way where they try to come off as so darn superior.... which is funny considering what line of work they CHOSE to do for a living no? (seriously I don't know how you guys do it...always having to look over your shoulder for that inevitable karma no doubt coming your way) I come to TMZ to get the latest, the fastest but all they're stupid... unentertaining... "mean just to be mean" filler B.S. which serves just to humiliate someone til they have a real entertainment story... I can do without and THAT'S where I think they eff up. And i'm also a bit ticked off that all the respect I had gained for Harvey via Larry King slips away daily...he should know better than to let half of the crap they print fly....who's the boss over there Harvey?

65. Oh PLEASE knock it off. All of you IDIOTS ---
Really half wit? Go on keep telling us what else we can and can't do (rolls eyes) Listen einstein, we have every right to comment on TMZ's very own commentary...are you that clueless or just always a domineering miserable wench? Now pipe down loonytoons and mind your business.

72. TMZ this is getting old.. how many of your college kids actually have adult responsibilities when their not wasting our time with their uninformed self rightous view of a world they likely only read about & see on tv.. I doubt they could handle what alot people have to live with dispite their best attempts to change their situations.. So grow up & get real!!..

74. Nia - I totally agree that standards in the entertainment reporting industry have taken a horrendous and massive nose dive since Perez came on to the scene and lowered the bar exponentially. Every time the slippery slope appears to have reached bottom, e-sites go even lower. My only thought was that Harvey was forced to try to compete. I give the critics that. I studied Journalism, and it bothers me to no end, but I fight for the right to report what people do. Not reporting it leads to the last eight years. -2:20PM
