"Idol" Kids -- Feudin' Like Cats and Dogs

We have spies -- of course we do -- inside "American Idol," and things between the contestants have gotten ugly from the get go.

At least one of the female contestants has taken cheap, Imus shots at Syesha Mercado, calling her hair "nappy," among other insults -- behind her back. Nice.

And the guys were ganging up against 17-year-old David Archuleta, making snarky remarks, again, behind his back. But who can blame them? Our sources say record execs at 19 Entertainment have already been in touch with top record publishers in Hollywood, and the word has already been sent out to songwriters to write this kid some tunes.

77. wow david archuleta is the reason I started to watch american idol again. its been since the first seasons since I was excited to see the show. I just watch it to see david. and one thing tmz is david gay. I know he doesnt come off gay right away but if you study him there is some gay to him and the choice of songs he choses are pretty gay "dream girl, a million miles ?"" crying in national television" I am just saying so tmz knowing most of your staff is gay I was wondering if you guys knew anything about mr. archuleta sexual preference.

78. Daughtry is the only thing good to ever come out of that stupid show. If Skunk-Head wins, I'm gonna be really upset-it's a singing show ABOUT singing-and she CAN'T sing! WTF!!??!!

79. Apparently Luke isn't having a problem with David's excellence. He was kindly lending a supportive shoulder when David was finding AlexAndrea's departure overwhelmingly sad, and David was comfortable enough with Luka to be taking him up on the supportive offer.

Am I the only one that can hear David WHEEZE each time he takes a breath during a song???? he sounds like he is gasping for air, and about to have an asthma attack, it is very distracting, I'm surprised the judges haven't mentioned this, but I guess they and the producers don't care as long as the tweenies and grannies can't hear it and keep voting for him, after all it is about the dollars at the end of the day!!! I find him an over manufactured, paint by numbers rote singer who is beyond bland, boring, and cheesy!

82. The kid is a natural...he far outshines all the other constestants without even trying. It's painfully obvious. He will have a long career with mass appeal. guaranteed. I thought the biker chick should have gone home last night....that was a joke.

88. This one seems a bit hard to believe. Everyone I've talked to here in Utah that either knows him, or has had contact with him says he's seriously one of the nicest, humblest kids they've met, and with mad skills to top it all off. I teach at a high school that's just down the road from David's, and he's got a great rep of being an amazing person. And THAT'S a hard rep to get sometimes in high school.
