Landlord to Brit: Pay Your Rent, Bitch!

As if Britney hasn't had enough tsuris, her Malibu landlord tried evicting her this month.

TMZ has seen documents sent to the official lessee for Brit -- Love Shack Trust. The documents, dated February 14, states that Brit was more than two weeks late in paying her $35,000-a-month rent. A $2,100 late charge kicked in, which was not paid. The documents state that Love Shack must either pay up or "surrender and deliver up possession of said Premises..."

There's an interesting last line in the docs, citing Section 594 of the Penal Code of California: "Every person who maliciously injures or destroys any real or personal property not his own...is guilty of vandalism."

Sources tell us Brit's financial peeps (not Jamie) screwed up but Love Shack is now current on rent and late fees and it's all kumbaya in Malibu.

If my Real Estate agent leaked that to the press,
MY LAWYERS would make them MY BITCH!

That is just wrong... ON EVERY LEVEL.

17. $35,000/mo. in rent? Haven't all those financial advisors told her that it makes more sense to purchase property? Jamie should enroll Brit in a business course instead of another dance class.

23. its illegal in the state of california to charge a late fee for rent! its all fine and dandy to put that on your agreements but they wont stand up in court

24. $35,000 a month RENT??? for a house she doesn't even use? How many homeless teens living in Los Angeles could be helped with that kind of money? How many meals could be served to the homeless? It's rediculous.

25. Hey moron, you know nothing about finances, you dont get a tax writeoff if you pay cash for real estate, only if you have a mortgage , you can deduct the interest on the payments from your taxable income. If you pay cash, there is no writeoff

plus, ...........property values are dropping like a stone, like 20 percent in the last two years, in most areas of the country. Real estate is no longer the sure deal it was before
sometimes renting is smart nowadays, You want to move? just pull up the moving truck and bye bye

own a property , you have to wait to sell it.........and hope it did not decrease in valule and you LOST money on the deal. Pluls you have to fix everything yourself, mow the lawn, maintain it, if you have to sell it you have to fix it up so that it will sell and HOPE that it sells, and then you have to pay the realtor commission

not so simple as it sounds to say owning is smarter than renting

30. Illeana Douglas thread. Ok thanks for giving me another point. Um it's not even that entertaining that's the problem! Lately they put any old shotty 1/2 baked comment next to a story that really doesn't need coverage and then they do it in a way where they try to come off as so darn superior which is funny considering what line of work they CHOSE to do for a living no? (seriously I don't know how you guys do it...always having to look over your shoulder for that inevitable karma no doubt coming your way) I come to TMZ to get the latest, the fastest in the entertainment but all they're stupid unentertaining "mean just to be mean" filler B.S. which serves just to humiliate someone til they have a real entertainment story??? I can do without and THAT'S where I think they eff up. And i'm also a bit ticked off that all the respect I had gained for Harvey via Larry King is slipping away day by day...he should know better than to let half of the crap they print fly....who's the boss over there Harvey?
