Landlord to Brit: Pay Your Rent, Bitch!

As if Britney hasn't had enough tsuris, her Malibu landlord tried evicting her this month.

TMZ has seen documents sent to the official lessee for Brit -- Love Shack Trust. The documents, dated February 14, states that Brit was more than two weeks late in paying her $35,000-a-month rent. A $2,100 late charge kicked in, which was not paid. The documents state that Love Shack must either pay up or "surrender and deliver up possession of said Premises..."

There's an interesting last line in the docs, citing Section 594 of the Penal Code of California: "Every person who maliciously injures or destroys any real or personal property not his own...is guilty of vandalism."

Sources tell us Brit's financial peeps (not Jamie) screwed up but Love Shack is now current on rent and late fees and it's all kumbaya in Malibu.

67. Ive known for a few years now that its illegal to ask for a late payment in california. Its also not considered evictable till you can prove they havent paid rent for a length of time. ( Im not 100% on the months but its more than 1) So the landlord demanding a late fee is one illegal and 2 to try to evict on it is unrealistic as its not legal either.

OH YES THE LAW ABIDING FOLKS THAT KNOW THAT ITS ILLEGAL INT HE STATE OF CALIFORNIA TO ASK FOR A LATE FEE ARE THE LOWLIFE'S... ITS ONLY BEEN THE LAW SINCE 1978. SHE ACTUALLY THOUGHT SHE COULD SAY THAT TECHNICALLY FEBRUARY IS A SHORT MONTH SO SHE COULD CHARGE ME PART OF MARCH'S RENT. I KNOW MY RIGHTS, AND HAVE A FRIEND WHO IS A VERY GOOD TENANT LAWYER THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

83. Britney was planning on using the money from her next comeback try to pay the rent but the gig at Taco Bell did not pay enough for a $35,000 rent payment. Britney will have plenty after she sings and jiggles at the Wal Mart opening gala.

I suppose things like that happen, demon possession and stuff like that, and even hauntings that are attached to people, such as it is said that some cases of poltergeists have done. But I don't think that is the case with Britney and that house on Ramirez Canyon Road. It's reported that the haunting in that house began before Britney moved in, that report from the previous owner of the house, Alexi Csato, who moved out and sold the house because she and her family was frightened by the haunting in that house.
