I am latina, a full 100% latina, born and raised in the Dominican Republic until I came to this country when I was 19 years old, 7 years ago, and when I had my kids I decided to name them Christina Marie and Camilla Abigail. Does that means that I am denying my heritage? or should I just for the simple fact that I am latina give my kids a "mexican-approved name? like Dora, Diego, Maya o Miguel? I don't think so! I think that everyone should name their kids whatever name they want regardless of their race, is the right every parent has, so why shouldn't she have that right?
What about Gwyneth naming her kid Apple, Courtney Cox naming her kid Coco (just like coconut), Julia Roberts naming her kids some equally retarded names like Phinaneus and Hazel, and the most recently Nicole Richie naming her daughter Harlow (after a dead -suicidal if I am not mistaken- actress) Winter (for the season)... so what is next on this so called celebs kids? Little Spring Yellow Banana?.... oh wait! that is so totally ok, because in some ancient language that meant something else a-la-Suri Cruise.
