80. While it is true Barack comes from mixed heritage, he is viewed in American society as black. I'm not sure if that is good or bad but it is certainly true. More and more in this society we do not know what anyone's ethnic background is. Carol Channing recently "came out" as black (Hello Dolly!). Who knew? I propose that if Barack becomes president he would NOT be our country's first black president. I believe, given the racial history of this country, it's more than likely that someone who has been president had some black blood in them. I bet if they exhumed and extracted dna samples from every president we would be shocked by what was discovered. It took modern dna testing before a full half of Thomas Jefferson's family was acknowledged as his offspring. He had a long term relationship with his slave, Sally Hemmings. Even after the dna results were conclusive, the "official" Jefferson family still refused to accept the "black" side of the family. Sad but indicative of racial politics and attitudes that have survived to this day.

SNL is the only program that has it right about the way all of the other reporters are against Hillary.No one has been fair during this whole thing.Like everything else say one negative remark about Obama and spend the next month trying to explain it was not racial.I'm sure Hillary hasn't said what she would if he was white.I think she is smart and would do a good job.If Obama wins over Hillary that's when the dirt on him will start on him and I think there will be lots but they want her out first-Lot of people do not like powerful females.

that makes him white or black, but you rarely hear anyone refer to him as White..... Now WHY is that?
As for me, he acts more white than black so in my mind i think of him as white. When he tries to pull off the black side somehow it's just so obvious.

so we should be calling him mixed. if anyone wants a breakdown that part is simple. His mother is irish-american and his dad is African. He's American by nationality. To call him Black is erroneous. He's obviously not all white, so to call him White is erroneous so why not start facing what so many other thousands of kids face today. hes a mixture of White-Black parents. Period. Not complicated. Not offensive. Just like his name. That should never be considered an insult unless of course he is embarrassed of his heritage. And if he really dont like the name; he's an adult. CHANGE IT! ..again - - SIMPLE!

86. This is not the first time I have heard this but it is completely ridiculous. Why isn't the Tribune talking about black delegates being harassed and threatened by other black delegates for not switching from Clinton to Obama?? Thank God many of them are standing up to the threats and saying they are not switching simply because Obama is black. SNL is a comedy show. The delegates are supposed to make decisions about the future of this Country. That is real life. I suppose every white delegate should harass Ted Kennedy for backing Obama. Now that WOULD be news. This stuff is really getting silly.

I live in Chicago area so I can say this, if the liberal media, the Chicago tribune, would worry more about reporting on the Obama World Poverty tax that is just passing in the senate and will have us all paying a tax to the UN for the resst of our lives instead of who plays Obama on SNL and how black he is , we would all be better off. Instead of reporting on issues that will inform Americans of what is happening to their way of life and why these liberal slimeballs would rather complain who is playing Obama instead of the real news is the reason why the American newspaper is going the way of the DoDo bird.
