Eww ... She's Contagious!

Amy Winehouse is on drugs -- for a bacterial skin infection.

According to People, the wrecktastic weaved wonder has been prescribed antibiotics after being diagnosed with impetigo, a contagious skin infection which usually appears as small blisters or scabs.

That partly explains why she looked so bad over the weekend.

61. ewwwwwwwwwwwwww..... i googled this and this is what i found.....

Impetigo, a contagious skin infection that usually produces blisters or sores on the face and hands, is one of the most common skin infections among kids.

It is generally caused by one of two bacteria: group A streptococcus or staphylococcus aureus. Impetigo usually affects preschool and school-age children, especially in the summer months. A child may be more likely to develop impetigo if the skin has already been irritated or injured by other skin problems, such as eczema, poison ivy, insect bites, or a skin allergy to soap or makeup.

GOOD HYGIENE can help prevent impetigo, which often develops when there is a sore or a rash that has been scratched repetitively (for example, poison ivy can get infected and turn into impetigo). Impetigo is typically treated with antibiotics.....

basically if this nasty freak showered like shes supposed to she wouldnt have a problem! gross!!!

67. AIDS is viral and antibiotics do NOT work on viruses. Antibiotics only kill bacteria. One of the girls on America's Next Top Model had this and the doctor said it's not even really that contagious...not a big deal really.

68. Looks like she was shooting up inside of her mouth (at the inside cheek area), acquired an infection with swelling, sort of a type of fasciitis. Looks like the bacteria was doing quite a nice job. Impetagio, I doubt it, it doesn't quite look like it.... nice try though. The fasciitis is caused by the same family of bacteria, a strep most likely, has caused the fasciitis that is more than likely from her shooting up in her mouth.

70. Two types of bacteria cause impetigo — Staphylococcus aureus (staph), which is most common, and Streptococcus pyogenes (strep). Both types of bacteria can live harmlessly on your skin until they enter through a cut or other wound and cause an infection.

In adults, impetigo is usually the result of injury to the skin — often by another dermatological condition such as dermatitis. Children are commonly infected through a cut, scrape or insect bite, but they can also develop impetigo without having any notable damage to the skin. Impetigo that strikes healthy skin is called primary impetigo. Secondary impetigo occurs after an injury to your skin's protective barrier.

You're exposed to the bacteria that cause impetigo when you come into contact with the sores of someone who's infected or with items they've touched, such as clothing, bed linen, towels and even toys. Once you're infected, you can easily spread the infection to others.

Staph bacteria produce a toxin that causes impetigo to spread to nearby skin. The toxin attacks a protein that helps bind skin cells together. Once this protein is damaged, bacteria can spread quickly

75. It's not everyone's job to be a role model for other people's kids! Natalie Cole is a hypocritical idiot. She lost her voice from doing drugs. If you have kids, YOU be their role model. If you ain't got kids, focus on your own life.
