"Idol" Wannabe Goes Topless -- And Strips, Too?

Every "American Idol" seems to have a skin scandal, and this year's involves pretty guy David Hernandez, a gay strip club, and a big trove of half-nude pics of David tending bar.

Hernandez worked as a bartender at a gay club and the saucy snaps of that gig have landed on VoteForTheWorst.com. And today, the manager of a strip club called Dick's Cabaret in Phoenix. tells the AP that Hernandez performed fully nude and did lap dances for the mostly male clientele at Dick's -- and "made good money" to boot.

No word if he'll face the fate of Season Three's Frenchie Davis. FOX tells TMZ, "We don't comment on the personal lives of the show participants."

16. #4, everyone has skeletons in the closet. some of us are just not afraid to admit it. whats your dirty little secret? c'mon you know you have one. ahd what in the holy hell is wrong with a person trying to impprove him/herself?? after all this is American idol, and us americans are FAR FROM PERFECT. jesuschrist judgmental people make me wanna start a prison riot!

18. #16 - you're blowing this way out of proportion. The fact that these kids are in their 20s and already been strippers, have been arrested, etc. is what I'm talking about. You're right! No one's perfect but this seems to be an epidemic on AI.

20. Wow, yet another American Idol scandal. I think we should just try to remember that these are regular people just like us, who were suddenly thrust into the spotlight. And yes, they chose to be there, but still...we all have things in our past that we wouldn't want anyone to know about, but it doesn't make us bad people. AI is a singing competition....if David can sing well and people vote for him, then he deserves to stay. If not, then he'll be voted off. But let it be for the right reasons! I personally can't stand his voice, but I couldn't care less about his past as a stripper, or if he's gay, or anything else. I'm not trying to marry the guy! Geez, people... grow up and just take AI for what it is supposed to be: a FUN show to vote on singers. It's not life or death, it's just a reality show!! :)

22. It's not fair that AI has standards for some and not for all. Frenchie was screwed out of her AI spot so should everyone else who has done something not up to AI standards.

23. My response is simple: WHO GIVES A RAT'S ASS? If this dude might have robbed a bank, killed someone, or committed some other heinous crime, maybe it would have a bearing on his status as an AI contestant.

It's practically become an Olympic sport for the news media and other media outlets to find dirt on AI contestants and make a big deal out of it. Nine times out of ten, it isn't. Find something else on which to report.

How about finding a cure for this mental illness instead of telling society it is normal. It is no different from pedophelia, manic depression, or obsessive-compuslive disorder in that it is a mental illness caused by some sort of chemical imbalance in the brain.

30. Let's get real. I'm a mom and my entire family watches this show. I suspected he was gay long before this and didn't care. I figured he was a good enough singer to even make the top 6. However, I don't relish the thought of explaining what a lap dance is to my kids. Frankly I am not quite sure what a lap dance is myself and I don't want to think about it. AI is a family show and this man doesn't need to be on it. Until someone gets their big break there were lots of other ways for them to support themselves. It's distasteful and AI needs to kick him off. I don't think they should subject their viewers to him again and I don't want to chance that he will get in the top 12. It's a turnoff to middle america and that's that.
