Confirmed: Patrick Swayze Has Cancer

Patrick SwayzeTMZ has confirmed reports that actor Patrick Swayze is suffering from cancer.

Swayze's publicist issued the following statement to TMZ: "Actor Patrick Swayze has been diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer and is currently undergoing treatment."

The statement continues, "Patrick's physician Dr. George Fisher states, 'Patrick has a very limited amount of disease and he appears to be responding well to treatment thus far. All of the reports stating the timeframe of his prognosis and his physical side effects are absolutely untrue. We are considerably more optimistic.' Patrick is continuing his normal schedule during this time, which includes working on upcoming projects. The outpouring of support and concern he has already received from the public is deeply appreciated by Patrick and his family."

31. I have been a fan since he was in North & South. While I realize he isn't a high power celeb, I think he will be missed. I know I will.

It is just a matter of time.

36. Wow. Pancreatic cancer. That kind of cancer is the fastest to progress and kill. So unfortunate, but luckily he has graced the world with a living presence in film.

37. People are confused. Pancreatic cancer is 100% terminal. There is no cure and it kills very quickly. I had my pancrease removed December 14th 2007 for a different ailment but it was to prevent my pancrease from going cancerous. I had a bunch of precancerous cyst. It was caught in time and VERY rare that happens. Poor Patrick.

40. Hope all goes well for him. Pancreatic cancer is usually a very painful and devastating cancer. The life expectancy is very dismal. Prayers for him.

43. Unfortunately, by the time pancreatic cancer is found, it is too late and they have a few weeks left. My prayers and thoughts are with Patrick and his family right now during this aweful time.

Not trying to hurt anyones feelings, or to break anyones spirits, but he will be dead within 1 year. trust me, I had a family member with pancreatic cancer...heatlhy as a horse but then...itll spread like wildfire and he will be dead in less than 1 year. Sorry to hear man.....no body puts baby in the corner.
