Confirmed: Patrick Swayze Has Cancer

Patrick SwayzeTMZ has confirmed reports that actor Patrick Swayze is suffering from cancer.

Swayze's publicist issued the following statement to TMZ: "Actor Patrick Swayze has been diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer and is currently undergoing treatment."

The statement continues, "Patrick's physician Dr. George Fisher states, 'Patrick has a very limited amount of disease and he appears to be responding well to treatment thus far. All of the reports stating the timeframe of his prognosis and his physical side effects are absolutely untrue. We are considerably more optimistic.' Patrick is continuing his normal schedule during this time, which includes working on upcoming projects. The outpouring of support and concern he has already received from the public is deeply appreciated by Patrick and his family."

84. Not really a Patrick Swayze fan, but this is tragic. He isn't even that old, so it's extra sad. So much life left to live. My grandmother died of pancreatic cancer; cancer as a whole is terrible, but pancreatic cancer is a bitch.

My thoughts are with the Swayze family and with all families struggle with the illness of a loved one. It's an awful thing to have to witness.

90. pancreatic cancer has a 0% survival rate. Its more of a how long can you make it type of disease. Its very sad. My hubby's aunt had it and she beat all the odds and survived for 2 years before she passed on.
