Sources tell TMZ, Britney Spears' conservatorship has been extended through July 31, 2008. 
The order, issued by the court commissioner today, is effectively a seal of approval for Brit's dad, Jamie. Papa Spears has been a co-conservator since Brit's latest breakdown.
Sources say the conservators are open to ending the conservatorship earlier than July 31, if Britney's mental state sufficiently improves and stabilizes.

168. To Confused (msgs #18, #26, etc.): you make it seem as if you suspect that Papa Spears has the court system under his control. Some fans would like to think that the judge is being manipulated here, and that there's no way that their little Britney could possibly be suffering from psychological problems, but that is a pipe dream for which there is scant evidence. On the other hand, there is plenty of evidence for Britney's mental problems, and for the fact that the court is acting legally and honorably. Nor is there any evidence that the two UCLA psychiatrists who saw Britney recenty, and who no doubt made their reports to the court, were in any way being dishonest.
Some Britney supporters would love to believe in a huge conspiracy controlled by Jamie Spears and involving the court system, the UCLA medical center, and the disinterested co-conservator, but it is much more likely that Britney's recent examination simply found her to still be psychologically unfit, and that also, there were one or more things that happened this week which warranted an earlier hearing.
As for her being able spend a little bit of her time teaching kids to dance, I believe that it's part of her _therapy_, and it doesn't necessarily indicate that she is able to fully function effectively in the world yet.
Just face the fact that Britney is mentally ill and that she still needs care. That is by far a more likely explanation for everything that is happening than some sort of conspiracy theory.

169. Britney needs to sue MTV for showing her comeback try on national television. The comeback was a bomb and they should have cut away to something else. MTV let Britney keep going where they could sell a lot of ads. Someone lays an egg and everyone wants to watch that person make a fool out of themselves. Britney needs to stay off the stage and lead a quiet life. She has plenty of money to just lay back and take it easy. Do not go on television where you will make a fool out of yourself again!!!!
