Brit's Dad Pays Himself -- Out of Her Money!

197. So let's take an informal tally of what daddy has done for Britney:

1. Jamie is keeping Sam and his crew away from her. These are people who aided and abetted Britney's losing millions of dollars.

2. Jamie has managed to get her visitation rights restored, and she is now seeing her kids regularly.

3. Jamie is encouraging her to work on her career again, and she is reportedly working on a new video.

4. Jamie has done a great job of keeping the paparazzi at bay. This should be good news to all of the "Leave Britney alone" people.

And now, let's enumerate what is likely to happen if the conservatorship were to end tomorrow:

1. She'll start courting the paps again, and her images will be sprayed all over the media, much to the chagrin of the "Leave Britney alone" cult.

2. She'll start blowing hundreds of thousands of dollars of her dwindling fortune on more cars, clothes, etc.

3. She'll start making more self-destructive decisions again, such as blowing off her career in favor of partying with her "friends" like Sam.

4. She'll probably start missing court appointments and blowing off her legal obligations, and she could easily lose custody again.

Do any of you actually favor the second set of options?

To me, the $10,000 per month seems like a bargain. Without her dad's influence, Britney would probably have blown 10-20 times that much destroying her life during the past month.

I don't doubt that Britney is unhappy. What person with a low intelligence and an early-adolescent emotional level would be happy if their father stepped in and told them they have to stop running around out of control and start behaving herself?

It's easy to search for ulterior motives behind Jamie's decisions, but you need to look at how Britney's life was going both before and after he stepped in. Actions and reality speak a lot louder than words and conspiracy theories. It seems to me that Britney is a lot better off now than she was before she was committed.

As for whether Jamie will relinquish control of Britney's life before July 31, time will tell. But all evidence so far points to him doing right by her.

198. To bethany (#151): you don't know what you're talking about. During each month of Britney's typical out-of-control behavior, she was blowing more than $100,000 just on "entertainment" alone. This is by _Britney's_ own admission, in papers that were filed in court by _her_ lawyers late last year. In the past month, I'm sure that Jamie has prevented his daughter from wasting a lot more than that.

Britney has blown more than half of her former $120 million fortune over the past few years, all by her sweet self.

According to the latest reports, without someone stepping in and putting on the brakes, Britney's remaining $40-60 million will be drained within four years.

Those amounts are astronomical in comparison to the $10,000 per month that Jamie is being permitted. And look at the results of his influence: Britney is working on her career again (i.e., increasing the potential for future earnings in order to make up for her past gargantuan losses), the paps are unable to splash her every move all over the world's media, and she has visitation rights to her kids.

Therefore, there is no basis for you to say that Jamie will "drain Britney's accounts dry". If anything, he is the one preventing that from happening.

Would you care to make a bet with me, bethany? I'll wager that within six months, the conservatorship will be over, Britney will be better off than she is now, and Jamie will not have profited by more than a fraction of one month of Britney's income. You will lose that bet, by the way.

199. I would say that money is for services rendered considering the services are keeping his daughter alive and the leeches off her body (Sam, her cousin, Adnan, the paps, etc...). Bravo....I would imagine any time spent with Britney is well worth it's weight in platinum and the insanity one would experience in her company would be priceless ***pay him MORE***.

Mr. Spears obviously cannot work while managing the conservatorship and dealing with Britney. He has expenses, too.

Britney spent much more than that on "entertainment", so I don't understand what the big flap is about.

204. while i can't relate to that much money per week , i am not a Spears nor do i live in Cal.

i have great respect for him and k-fed for what they are doing for their children... but then they are parents who love their children.

at least she is getting help, unlike the moochers ( aka sam and boyfriend ) wonder how much money they pulled from her accounts?

she seems to be towing the line now and can also see her boys, since daddy stepped in.

it will be interesting to see what happens when she is on her own again. call me negative but i fear she will be back to her old antics. it is Britneys world and we just live in it.

206. I think conservators in any state are entitled to be compensated IF the person they are conserving has ANY money. Even the Executor of a will normally gets 10% of the estate. It takes a LOT of time & energy to take care of someone. I doubt that her father will take every thing he is entitled. I think he got tired early on of trying to steer Brittany clear. But all she wanted was fame. Her mother & father sacrificed a lot to let her chase her dream & she seems to have forgotten she would be nothing without them. The best thing for Brittany is having her family around. She makes one bad mistake after another! She doesn't have very good judgement. I think the only thing her parents care about is helping her. And I think the ONLY people on the entire planet that would take care of her if she had NO money would be her parents! Who took care of her BEFORE she had moeny? Not Lufti or Adnan or Kevin.

208. To #199. These aren't beneficiaries of the consevortorship per se but they are all part of the Britney money grab:
1) Osama Lutfi; good for $3,000 a day for month upon month
2) Adnan; good for gifts, cars, sleazy times and hard cash (not to mention bun-in-the-oven pay)
3)Mama Spears; on the payroll since the beginning, lives in a $7,000,000 mansion thanks to the Britskank, and God knows how much is involved in keeping her in the manner to which she is accustomed.
There are a lot more too, but these are the big ticket leeches. No one stays around Brit Brit unless they are paid.
