Record Execs: Screw the "Idol" Chicks!

TMZ has learned the recording industry has no interest -- at least for now -- in the "American Idol" girls. Their focus is exclusively on two male contestants.

Well-connected record industry sources tell TMZ the major publishers (including Sony and Warner) have already set their sights on David Archuleta and David Hernandez. The record publishers have already told their songwriters to write songs specifically for David-squared, whether they win or not.

Sources say this is the earliest publishers have ever committed to the contestants.

34. David Cook is IMO the real deal, and, at least for this girl- pretty damn hot. Not in the boring, obvious, pretty way, rather in the creative, genuinely talented and kinda smoldering way! Im telling you he could be a big seller for 19e...alot of us like brainy, confident artists! I'd love him to win, but it might be better for him as an artist if he didn't...I've seen some of those contracts. Go David!

38. I don't mean to be picking on David Achuleta, but his humbleness starts to get on my nerves. He has to know that he is a good singer, but far from being a great singer. And to acts surprise each time the judges give him compliments, is really getting on my nerves ..reminding me of some AI contestant in the past, can't remember the name, but acted the same way.

Oh, I remember now,....it's Melinda Doolittle. Simon had to asked her to just say "thank you" instead of "oh, really, I didn't know that" looks on her face....

See where I'm getting at, David Achuleta???

As for David Hernandez, sing your little tuche out, honey!!!

40. I don't believe this rumor. The Davids are "forgettable" David Cook on the otherhand is number #1 followed closely by Brooke White. Those are the standouts, Carly just sings loud.

41. I smell MONEY!!!!! The recording company's are saying...with David Archuleta and David Hernandez. I really like Archuleta is my favorite.
They don't care about these 2 young guys. ITS ALL ABOUT THE MONEY!!!!!!!!! THEY'LL USE THEM AND ABUSE THEM.... If you let them. The real thing if these 2 young talented guys come up with some of there own material....Seem like eveyone is making Album these days. Don't mean there good.
