"Idol" Johns Ditched College, Last Name

Michael JohnsMichael Johns used to go by the name Michael Lee ... and Lee was one young, hottie of a tennis player.

In 1998, Michael was a student on a tennis scholarship at the Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Georgia. According to a program from the school's tennis department, his major was drama!

Lee changed his name to Johns when he moved from Tifton to Atlanta. According to the Tifton Gazette, he was only at ABAC for two quarters before leaving to pursue his music career.

19. I think this Michael Johns guy resembles an actor from the 1970's western Alias Smith and Jones...His name was Pete Duel. He was something special, so is this Idol singer. I wish him the best! Hope he sings a romantic ballad or two...I'd like to see that side of his talent.

23. hey i used to live a town over from tifton which is where ABAC is.....you can't really say much though ABAC is hard, made harder when you want your music heard. The music scene in Tifton isn't really great, lol.

24. I went to ABAC for 2 years... cool if you're into rednecks, tennis or golf... I wasn't!
The "unofficial" cheer for any sport there... "Gee Haw Woe Back, Giv'em hell ABAC!" One Hell of a tennis and golf program tho!
