A report online says that Britney Spears has been receiving threatening letters and packages and took them to the authorties -- but we're hearing differently.
E! News is saying that things with Brit have gotten so bad, they turned over the evidence to the LAPD and the FBI. But when TMZ called the LAPD yesterday and again this morning, a spokeswoman told us they had "no recent reports of any threats."
It's SOP at the FBI not to comment on an ongoing investigation.

28. Jack54: Thank you. I was just making the point yesterday that we can't forget about Rebecca Schaeffer. She was such a sweet, talented actress. The paps have to back off, the autograph hounds have to give this girl her space. These celebrities never know whether it's a gun or a camera shoved in their face. I'm glad Britney's got the money to secure her as much as possible. This is not funny.

29. Anyway I'm pretty pissed that i have to write my comment all over again, especially when TMZ makes you write in such a small font anyway...
Of course celebrities get stalkers but Britney enticed the situation even more when she had such drama at her residence. It could be one of the firemen, policemen, paparazzi that came when she had those mutiple 51/50s or even the druggie girl she use to hang out with. Who told Britney to go out at 3 a.m. in the mornining for no apparent reason, and then when she gets a flat, she feels compelled to have one of the paparazzi losers drive her back to her house. It could be any of those losers around her neighborhood since practically they all know her address. She is now suffering the repercussions of her actions. If it was the Charles Manson days, she wouldn't have survived as long as she did while traveling and hanging out with people like Adnan and Sam Lufti because those people only want one thing and one thing only. I don't think its Kevin doing it so he's definitely out in my book of suspiscion. Hopefully when the FBI investigates and finds the culprit, she will know not to do all those crazy publicity driven stunts she was pulling not too long ago because all of that is simply not worth it...
