Celebrity Justice
Britney/Shakespeare -- Kill Lawyers

Britney SpearsIn a stunning development, Britney Spears and Bill Shakespeare have something in common -- they both want to kill all the lawyers.

The custody case is back in court this morning, and Brit's lawyer will make a frontal attack on the lawyers on both sides of the case. We know the firm that just quit the case -- Trope and Trope -- has billed Brit more than $600,000 in legal fees over the last five months they repped her. And K-Daddy's lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, has billed half a mil over the last four months. The court has already ruled Brit has to pay MVK's "reasonable" attorney's fees.

We're told it's going to get hot in court. There's been a theory for a long time -- some divorce lawyers use the pain of a split to fleece clients and keep the dispute alive when it should be settled. Whether true or not in this case, we're told that's what Brit's lawyer will argue.

One of the points will be that multiple lawyers on both sides have appeared for every hearing and it's just to jack up the bill.

Stay tuned ...

32. Really and Um... (msgs #3 and #15): I couldn't agree more! If I make some dumb-ass choices, I can apologize, learn from my mistakes, and be a better person in the future, but that doesn't get me off the hook, and I still have to take responsibility and pay the consequences of my actions. This is how it is for most of us who live in the adult world.

Of course, in Britney's case, instead of becoming a better, wiser person, she just kept making the same idiotic decisions, and she has refused to learn from them, getting herself in more and more hot water as time went on.

Britney doesn't deserve to be exempt from the consequenses of her bad choices any more than the rest of us, and therefore, I say that she should have to pay. It might be that some of the overblown legal fees could be lowered a bit, but that doesn't change the fact that she should still be responsible and shell out what is necessary to clean up the trail of destruction that she has left in the wake of her repeated immature, selfish, and solipsistic actions.

Britney is a 26-year-old woman, and she needs to learn how to stop acting like a baby. Slapping her with the consequences of her choices is the only way to teach her to grow up.

33. What's the difference between an accident and a tragedy?

If a bus full of lawyers skids off the road into a river, that's an accident.

If the lawyers know how to swim, that's a tragedy.

***

You find yourself stranded on a desert island with Attila the Hun, Adolph Hitler, and a lawyer. You have a gun, but it only has two bullets. What should you do?

Shoot the lawyer twice.

***

None of this means that Britney should get off the hook, however. She is the principal cause of most of her problems, and she should have to pay the consequences.

34. LOL, Hoopla!!!!

A plane carrying four passengers is struggling to go over a mountain. It becomes obvious to the pilot that the plane will crash. He puts the controls on auto, then runs to the back of the plane. Grabbing a parachute, he tells the passengers, "We are going to crash!" Then the pilot bails out. The passnegers looks around and realize there are only three parachutes left. The first passenger, a doctor, tells the others: "I am a doctor, I save lives, so I deserve to live." He grabs a parachute and jumps. The next passenger, a lawyer, tells the remaining passengers, "I am a lawyer. I am very smart, in fact I'm the smartest man in the world. I deserve to live." He, too, grabs a parachute and jumps.

The last two passengers are a priest and a boy. The priest hands the last parachute to the boy, saying, "Son, you take this. I have lived an honorable life and I am ready to face my Maker. You should take the last parachute."

The boy responds, "Thank you, Father, but you keep it. The smartest man in the world just jumped with my backpack."

35. Didn't Britney started the whole custody case by not being satisfied with the first 50/50 custody desicion? If that was the case, then she forced Kevin to go to court and hire those lawyers and should pay for it.
