Britney's About to "Meet My Mother"

TMZ has learned that Britney Spears is prepping for a small guest part on CBS's hit "How I Met Your Mother."

Our sources tell us that Brit's agent Jason Trawick from William Morris made the deal with producers on the show. One source called it "a small legitimate project that will keep her busy doing something." We're told it's not long term and her dad -- her conservator -- is down with it and has signed off.

Pink is the New Blog, who first reported the story, says Brit Brit is scheduled to appear on an upcoming episode. TMZ caught her arriving at the FOX lot.

"How I Met Your Mother" is a CBS show produced by FOX. The show is "on the bubble" a biz term for getting 86'd and producers think this is just the gimmick they need.

A source on the show tells TMZ the critical darling is not about to be canceled and is returning to the air next Monday.

16. Wow she has been with this new manager for a couple of weeks and he has already gotten her work. The only thing Sam had her working was the media. Good to see she is on the right track.

18. How I Met Your Mother is a good show and when it airs along with CBS other comedy shows on Monday night, it should do good!

19. Why dont we tell the boys how Kevin met their mother.. lets see, a homewrecker with no morals or values decided to take me away from my kid and kids to be and pay for everythign in my life and now everyone is blaming me for your mom being a skanky homewrecker. Pretty much sums it up!

24. saw Crossroads; Brittney can't act. Desperate attempt, is right! Britney reminds me of a bubble head. Next she'll be barely dressed advertising for PETA.... No sympathy for this devil. She's a poster child for all that's gone "wrong" with

25. Brit Brit's "career" continues to spiral down the drain. For those of you with a strong stomach, you may remember she starred in the movie "Crossroads". So she goes from starring in a movie to getting a guest spot on a lousy TV show. Nice downward trajectory.

29. Mandy Moore was on How I met your mother in a guest spot.
Now, Britney can work but she can't function and needs a conservatorship. This makes no sense. Doesn't it trouble people that Jaime Spears extended the conservatorship through the summer and is trying to get Brit a summer tour? Also Jaime Spears is not working 24/7 taking care of Britney. There are pictures of him golfing. He doesn't even supervise her when she is teaching the children to dance. She is left all alone with the children, but she supposedly can't function.
