Dawn Wells, the actress that played Mary Ann on "Gilligan's Island," was busted with marijuana in her car after driving home from her birthday party in Idaho -- and she's 69!

Wells was pulled over on October 18 after a Teton County sheriff noticed her swerve across the center lines of State Highway 33 and repeatedly speeding up and slowing down. A search produced four half-smoked joints and two small cases to store marijuana -- which she blamed on hitchhikers. Even Gilligan wouldn't buy that one!

Wells is now serving a three hour tour six months of unsupervised probation for the crime. She pleaded guilty to one count of reckless driving and was sentenced last month to five days in jail, fined $410.50 and placed on probation.

Good thing our legal system is heartless enough to throw a 70 year old woman in jail for 5 days...

she should have never of gone back to idaho and stuck to CA where she could have a medical marijuana card

all those po-dunk piggies have is nothing better to do than bust old ladies who "strattled" a line on the interstate for 2 seconds.... im pretty sure most old ladies drive like crap. he could have just been cool and given her a ticket or make her leave her car so a friend could pick her up - while ignoring the fact she was smoking. sometimes its just so assanine. but no no... the police officer wanted to prove something since he is just a middle aged jerk selling his soul to the government for nearly nothing and a pot smoking hippie banked it from playing a big boobed babe on an island and can afford good herb.

if they actually had REAL crime in idaho, the police would probably be REAL police.

82. Happy birthday Mary Ann, this is just top notch police work by officer Square Nuts. Just exactly what was she doing wrong? This feeds the cottage industry ie: Attorneys, Judges, Jail/Court personnel of prohibition in the new millennium. Wake up people we are near a Nazi like state in this country they can pull you over for anything and if you are just a bit .08 out of line they are going to rake you over all the coals, You can be President or VP with these offenses but try getting a job without a drivers licence. The only bigger boondoggle is the Friend of the Court. Just my 2 cents. How long is this harrasment going to go on before people have had enough.?

86. In her books and in TV interviews she chastized Bob Denver (Gilligan) about how shocked and disappointed she was about his pot bust about 10 years ago. And there she is puffin on the dragon! I love her even more though. Wouldn't that be great, to be marooned with Marianne and a few pounds of Hawaiian skunk ! Too bad Gilligan's Island was a more recent show, you know there would be some nice pics and "home movies" of Marianne floating around.
