The 54-year-old resurfaced at a theater event in NYC on Monday, looking shabby chic.
Prior to "Amadeus," Tom starred as Pinto in "Animal House" and bared it all on stage in "Equus" -- the same play Daniel Radcliffe stripped off his Hogwarts uniform in last year.
Tom is a producer of the Tony award-winning Broadway musical, "Spring Awakening."

He would still be quite a good looking guy if he lost weight, shaped up, and cut his hair.
He's only 54!!
There is NO excuse for this Tom!
lose 30 pounds, get a haircut and dye job, and either trim or lose the beard and he would look exactly the same as he used to look. and that is yummy :)
He does NOT look like a typical 54 year old or a typical father. He looks healthier, somewhat Bohemian, and brighter than the typical Baby Boomer. As far as "hot" goes, I'm not qualified.
Hes cute and over weight..So friggen what...we all go into the ground and turn into dust when we die..No big deal..He likes to Eat and hates to exercise..so what..
This guy is a constant professional. He is in his 50's and he looks great and real and non Hollywood. Check out his latest success in NYC. Thanks to this great guy his recreation of "Spring Awakening" that got the tony of the year. Shame on you TMZ for trying to make fun of Tom. TMZ is the new supermarket rag. I am very sad by this posting.
Johannes Brahms is back from the dead!
Hey Johannes, write us another symphony.
He's just gotten much heavier and grayer -- but his face really does look the same. I loved him in Parenthood ... one of my favorite movies. And, by the way, my older husband is 51 -- and he looks MUCH better than this!! Just because you're over 45 or 50 doesn't mean you are "old". Believe me, you younger ones out there will be there soon enough ~~ So don't judge ...
Time sure does fly, he looks very angry, mad at the world for being typecast as Amadeus!
He sure looks mad, mad at the world for being typecast as Amadeus, ALWAYS!!
Add my vote to the "He still looks good to me" side. We ALL get older and most of us DO put on weight and turn gray. I'd still love to give him a big hug!!! We love you Tom!!
Wow! I was madly in love with Tom back circa 1984. I was so obsessed. He was so cute!!!
Don't think I would have recognized him today - although there is a hint of those sexy eyes and lips still remaining.
Thanks TMZ for taking me back!
2. He looks like Tim Allen from The Santa Claus!!!
