Britney Green Lit By TV Cast; Shunned by Alicia

Sources connected to the TV show "How I Met Your Mother" tell TMZ the cast members were told Britney wouldn't be on the show unless they said it was ok. They met with her and they liked her -- they really, really liked her!

We're told the entire group of actors approved Brit. She was, as one of them put it, "laid back and collected."

We're told Brit will play the receptionist for Ted, Josh Radner's character. But that wasn't the original plan. Alicia Silverstone was supposed to go on the show and Britney was then asked to play her receptionist, but Alicia didn't want to be upstaged and refused to play ball. Unclear if Alicia has backed out altogether.

47. I'm happy to see Brit working, she's done great cameos in the past. I'll watch. Disappointed in Alicia, who never really impressed me anyhow. My money is on Brit and a comeback, at least she's got the potential to "reinvent" herself. Can't say that about Alicia......

48. Alicia Silverstone and another tantrum? Remember when she refused to shake Elisabeth Hasselbeck's hand on The View? I'm not a Hasselbeck fan, but c'mon. Is she still in junior high? So silly! If she wants to win people over to her causes, she needs to show some intelligence and adult maturity. I have a 2 year old who acts more mature than Alicia.

49. #43... I agree, although not a Brit fan and havent been for quite some time, I would like to seee her pull herself up and pull her life back togeather.
Alicia, may have been a good opportunity for her as well, but obviously she was easily intimidated. She will never make it now, she has shown nothing but weakness dropping out just because Brit is going to appear. Bad move on her part.

50. I don't blame Alicia. That was a shrewd professional decision. If Alicia has the chance to guest star on the show, why would she want to do it on the same show Britney is guest starring. That would take would take the spotlight off Alicia and possible ruin a crucial opportunity for her, and she knows it.

56. Alicia Silverstone is only where she is in the film industry due to her family connections. If she is truly behaving this way, she needs to drop out of the industry entirely or create her own company and self-employ! As a mother of a young adult, It's a blessing her father was able to step-in to turnaround her life so she can, hopefully, live a creative life and regain joint custody of her children.

Her pops deserves a five-star award for the changes the public is beginning to observe in her life. To ignorant Lutfi....never underestimate the intelligence of the so-called hillbilly name you called her parents!

58. somebody please tell me....why do Brit fans love her? She puts her career first and kids last. According to "Rolling Stone" magazine Paris' nickname for her when they went out was "the animal". She acts vulgar in public, does drugs and a Judge is making her father babysit her every move like she was 14 years old. I can't see somebody's life getting any worse. Oh yeah... and now she talks British. I wonder if they told her she had to speak with a southern accent on the TV set.

59. Alicia is virtually the definition of a has-been. In five years time it will be Britney bowing out of some dumb sitcom because she's afraid of being upstaged by someone (probably Miley Cyrus).
