3. Oh leave the poor kid alone, he has paid for his mistake. I'm sure he feels terrible. People need to stop judging. You don't know how this kid feels. It is his best friend for crying out loud. Would you not care?

4. The other guy should have been wearing a seatbelt. Was Nick drinking or high when the wreck happened?

6. you know, he needs to spend some time with his friend in that hospital. Or the girlfriend of John who just sits and waits for him to come out of his coma.

it's a terrible sad thing that has happened. I am sure he has paid a ton mentally, now lets see what the courts rule. We don't really see him around anymore, i bet he's not sleeping well at night.

7. I say he should get jail time. let him pay, stupid stuff like street racing, is exactly the reason 10 people in maryland died a few weeks ago. Make him an example, he's just another spoiled rich kid who thinks hes gotten away with something else while his friend will forever be in a coma. Increase the maximum sentence and send him to jail for longer than 4 years

8. Good Lord those pictures are eerie. It is surprising that anyone survived that wreck.
I believe Nicks sentence should be to hose down the blood on the street after fatal car wrecks and to have to ride the bus for the rest of his life- when you are being that stupid (racing like that on a busy public street) you pretty much give up the PRIVILEGE that is a drivers license. If you dont have the brain cells for the privilege you simply dont get it. Man I wish I was a judge ;)

9. BGZ - yes, in fact Nick was drinking that day!

10. When you have a horrific car accident like this one the sound of metal crashing NEVER leaves you. I am sure that Nick will never forget what took place that day and why! He is truly blessed to still be alive. Hopefully his friend will wake from his coma without any brain damage!

11. BGZ, yep, Nick had been drinking, but was too young to buy alcohol ... John Graziano was not too young to buy alcohol. I wonder what happened there?

Nick should be punished, but our Marines should set better examples by wearing their seatbelts, and not taking part in street racing. And, by not buying minors alcohol - if that was the case here.

12. Come on now, he learned his lesson? I know I have seen him in pictures very recently smiling away for the camera. He's a spoiled little brat, lets see how mommy and daddy bail him out of this one....

This happened in my town. Nick should watch this and learn something from the driver of this vehicle. He is doing soemthing to honor his friend, Nick should too.

14. Nick is not special - his friend is not gonna wake up OK - damage is permanent - Nick could have insisted on seatbelts - he needs to be a lot sorrier than he is for causing all this pain and suffering, just cuz he's a celeb's kid doesn't mean he gets a free pass.

15. Sorry, I have no sympathy for Nick. Driving is a serious privilege, not a right. As the driver he is completely responsible for anyone in the car. It is amazing he is alive but as for his friend...Dallas, John is not ever going to be the same, even should he come out of the coma. I do hope the courts come down on Nick. I am so tired of seeing young people think and drive like morons. Life is so short and John has no second chance. Nick does but I wonder if he does care...the Bollea family is dysfunction beyond belief. It is hard for me to have sympathy for Nick...I spent 16 years taking care of victims of car accidents and most of them should never have happened. Have you ever seen a man in his 20's paralized from the neck down, unable to speak due to a drunk driver? Have you ever seen the agony of a family put out there when the choice comes to pull the plug on their child due to a car wreck? I have seen this...and the memory is just as vivid as the day I saw all this. Both victims because of excessive speeding and loss of control of the car. It is time for the courts to come down on all drivers responsible for their actions. Nick has put a friend in the living death by HIS CHOICE TO DRIVE LIKE AN IDIOT.
