TMZ spoke with Marty Rendleman, Kristy Lee Cook's former manager, who told us country legend Tanya Tucker called Cook last night to lend her advice! This wasn't a random call -- the two have a past!
Marty tells TMZ when Kristy was 16, she called Marty (then her manager) to get tickets to an Oregon country fair where Tanya was performing. Marty did Kristy one better -- she talked Tanya into letting Kristy sing a couple of songs on stage! Tanya then took Kristy and her family backstage to hang out.
Marty, who's still friends with Tanya, told her about Kristy being on "American Idol" -- so Tanya got Kristy's number and called her last night. Tanya told Kristy that she was pretty, had a great voice and to just go out there and be herself!
The advice is great -- but Tanya might wanna vote next week.

I think kristy lee cook sucks! 2 weeks in a row she copied versions of songs that Lorrie Morgan had already done but took credit for the arrangment herself, only kristy sang them bad. Lets try to be a little more original, oh and by the way...I don't think I would take advise from tanya tucker.
I believe Kristy has the talent to make it big in country ... Never mind the past .. too many jealous people because she is beautiful, talented and has that special "it factor" something similiar like Carrie Underwood. Remember many didn't like Carrie the first few weeks but look what has happen in the music industry. Kristy is more commercialy saleable than the others I see in this show. Too bad they will pick someone once again that will fail like the last few winners ...

Good grief. What is Kristy Lee still doing in the competition? Chikezie went and she's still there? She might have a decent voice but she wouldn't know how to perform or be the least bit interesting if her life depended on it.
