31. my earlier comment was deleted (which is ridiculous) so I will say it again, that story about colin farrell is pure crap! TMZ took an interview that colin did for british GQ and completely exaggerated everything in it to make a "story". i think they considered the link i posted to the actual article either a) a copyright infringement or b) a "blatent advertisement" so I will not repost the link to the article. I will say do a search for the article and read the TRUE story for yourselves.

32. Madonna has a nice voice. She LOOKS and sounds phoney, however, fake English accent and all. Her daughter may miss her real Dad, the personal trainer Hispanic guy from the Bronx. How does Madonna explain that ? "Oh, I REALLY wanted a kid, so I got myself knocked up. Why get married ? All I wanted was a baby !!!! Maybe Guy Ritchie is SICK of her high maintenance ways. 33. I love Prince Harry - he's has a very down to earth side and probably thanks to Diana. Both of her children have become wonderful young men and I am sure she is proud of them. He does so many good things that are never reported on, but he cares about people and is a good young man.

Definitely if Madonna has been in England for a while, she could legitimately pick up an accent (probably a mixed accent, a combination of her original accent and the local accent that makes her sound foreign here and there). Some people pick up the surrounding accent more easily than others (I do, so I sympathize; a native Southerner thought I was Southern because of my current accent, but that's just because the local accent is a bit Southern and I've lived here for many years - I started out otherwise and have never been further south than Washington DC).

I ran into an Indiana native who had been living in Kenya with her Kenyan husband for many years, where the English accent is sort of based on British with a distinctive African flair - and that's how she talked! Lost all her Hoosier accent, although I'm sure that back home in Kenya they thought she had an American accent.

A friend with a Master's in Russian also mentioned most native-Russian speakers teaching the language here become heavily "contaminated" by US English with just a few years, so their Russian pronunciation is no longer really native. So it's really hard to maintain your original accent in your native language even when surrounded by an entirely different language, and even harder when the languages are so similar (US English vs. UK English).

Felicity, before you start in on Madonna do so research, Madonna was with her daughters father for 5 years untill she caught him cheating on her, would you stay with a man who canh't keep it in his pants? You jusge Madonna based on tabloid and internet gossip not the facts. It was all on the news that he got busted and the pictures of him doing it. Madonna works hard and has raised 2 so-far decent kids whuch is hard to do without all the fame she has. Madonna has lived in the Uk for years and she loved to embrase culture if she wants to use a brit accent that does not make her FAKE nor does changing her image she is a business woman if she stayed the same she would be a has-been like all the rest of them.
