Mel Befriends Britney

TMZ has learned Mel Gibson and his family have very privately befriended Britney Spears to help her through her troubles.

The two were at Romanov Restaurant and Lounge in L.A. last night and according to one report they broke bread together. Our sources say Gibson, his wife Robin and their kids reached out to Britney during her darkest days and began seeing her.

We're told Mel and Robin feel like they know how tough it is to live in a fishbowl and they think they can help the Britster. There have been private dinners in which Mel, Robin and their brood have hooked up with Brit to give her support.

At Romanov's last night, Mel and Brit did not walk in or out together. Looks like Mr. Mel, unlike lots of other celebs, isn't into splashing his good deeds in the media. Nice.

48. He's certainly better company than Lufti or Adnan, and much higher up the food chain. Good for him. Mel puts his money where his mouth is, and I see an honest effort to adhere to many tenets of his faith. Britney could use some fearless support from a few respected someones.

50. Its good to see that she can trust someone again. It doesnt matter what religion, or faith....its different strokes for different

folks.....whatever works for one....may not work for another.....and that is exactly why we have diversity.

I hope Mels family is nice....and that Brit feels good about herself again.

It would be nice to see her smiling again........and enjoying life .............

Remember Britney has been involved with Koballa.....pardon the spelling.....so my guess is Pa has been looking for anyone to get her off that thinking.....and who better than the man that spills hate about Jews............she can't have her own friends but they will pick people that they hope to influence her or bait her with 'get far away from that thinking and I can get you into a film her or there'..........who's the mess here!!!!! This woman is surrounded my morons who don't care about her, just care about themselves...........next will be an exersist.......I hope her sister is paying attention to all of this and gets far, far away from these people as soon as she can.......she's the next money they'll be pandering.

Anyway the real reason Brit and Mel met is because they are going to open
up a restaurant next door to Britney's dad's restaurant when
he opens one up with the money he borrowed (stole)
from Britney

60. We're all here on earth to confront our "shadow" side, i.e. that which we project on others and, also, learn to love ourselves and one another. I think Mel Gibson has more than adequately atoned for his religious fanaticism and has been involved in addiction counseling as well as psychotherapy. Additionally, he was ostracized by many Jews in Hollywood....what else do you reverse haters want? His wife seems to be a very loving and nurturing woman (mother).

Hopefully, Britney's father has her on the right track now and she will accept the real stars, who extended her friendship during those tumultuous months, up on their friendship and guidance. I think Britney is going to come out on the other side a very different person so get beyond memories of the teenage start, Britney, who lost her way the past almost four years.
