Brit's Lawyers -- Oh the Irony!

So we just read the order forcing Britney to pay $375,000 for K-Daddy's legal bill. Here's what jumped out at us.

In the order issued by Commish Scott Gordon, he notes that disso queen Laura Wasser charged Brit $164,972 in legal fees. Remember, Wasser handled the case for 10 months. She's the one who handled the divorce and fought for joint custody and dealt with Brit during the meltdown.

After Wasser quit, Brit hired Trope and Trope to rep her. On Trope's watch, Brit lost custody and visitation. Their bill for five months? $685,985.22 (the 22 cents is a killer). In fairness, Brit's craziness made it impossible for the Commish to do anything but strip her of custody. But seriously, $685,985.22???!!!

So what did Shakespeare say again?

17. No wonder she's not allowed to hire her own representation right now ... doesn't even care enough to see that she was being swindled for mediocre representation that was just after her money

18. Well, let this be yet another reminder that the only "winners" in divorce civil actions are the Attorneys . What a total waste of money for such frivilous matters. It would behoove them to work out their differences out of Court and save the extra money for their kids.... really! Of course, their Attorneys aren't going to encourage that!

22. britney should challenge this legal bill . kaplan (k fed lawyer) has been defaming britney(via: sands) and demanding that she pay his legal bills , which should be illegal.
Also investigate sands,sam,adnan for exploiting & endangering britney.

23. The fees still go back to Britney's repeated definance of the entire Court system and uncooperative attitude. Hopefully, Britney will "cooperate" in the future regarding the legal system and save having to pay added expenses. Bella

I'll take a stab at what it means, though I don't know for sure that this is correct: She dissolves marriages.

PS - I wish that people would get off their butts and read, write, and speak REAL English, and ceasing using those stupid acronyms and abbreviations that only some seem to understand.

26. Oh, and for everyone saying that this isn't fair...GUESS WHAT? A PERSON CAN KEEP TRACK OF THEIR LEGAL BILL, AND KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE GOING TO BE CHARGED! If she didn't like it, she could get a new lawyer or none at all. She chose them, she pays them.

LASTLY, her music is such a rip off of Madonna that she doesn't even DESERVE her money anyway! So THERE!

A warning to both men and women:

Be very careful of who you marry. If you're very wealthy, be extra careful. Make sure your feelings are just not lust. If, after time, the two of you have grown apart ... try to work out the division of the martial assets with a divorce mediator before taking it to court. It will save everyone involved a lot of time and money.

29. From the play, "King Henry VI", the quote was ,"...the first thing we do, let's kill all the lawyers." How utterly morbid, is it not ? Shakespeare did not trust the lawyers, either. Let's face it, Trope and Trope have overestimated their abilities to persuade the court, and their general legal abilities. They have vastly overcharged, as far as I can see, and I am only going by what has been reported. Britney may have been a difficult client, but should she have been punished for having a nervous breakdown ?
