2Pac's Shooting: Diddy Didn't Do It

Sean "Diddy" Combs and James "Jimmy Henchman" Rosemond are furious over an L.A. Times article today that implicated them in the 1994 shooting of 2Pac.
Tupac, Diddy
The shooting -- which occurred at Quad Recording Studios in N.Y., two years before his "death" -- has never been solved and no charges have ever been filed. But an L.A. Times report out today claims the FBI has received new information that ties the shooting to two associates of Diddy: Rosemond and promoter James Sabatino.

In a statement, Diddy says, "This story is a lie. It is beyond ridiculous and is completely false. Neither Biggie nor I had any knowledge of any attack before, during, or after it happened. It is a complete lie to suggest that there was any involvement by Biggie or myself. I am shocked that the Los Angeles Times would be so irresponsible as to publish such a baseless and completely untrue story."

Sabatino is currently in prison for unrelated crimes, but Rosemond says he has never been questioned by police over the shooting. Rosemond attacks the writer of the article, Chuck Philips, by saying he "has reached a new low by employing fourth-hand information from desperate jailhouse informants along with ancient FBI reports to create this fabrication." Philips has been covering the 2Pac shooting and his eventual murder for years, but told AllHipHop.com this weekend, "I don't believe that Biggie and Puffy set Tupac up [to be shot]."

Rosemond added that he is "currently consulting with my attorneys about my legal rights regarding this libelous piece of garbage."

2Pac had long-claimed that Diddy and Notorious B.I.G. were involved in the shooting.

46. Edumucated:

Thank you Thank you Thank you for someone finally providing the "down low" list. Wow, what a list of charachters---talk about a double standard and Eliot Spitzer like hypocrites....whew, all those guys pushing the macho lady loving theme when all along they are wanting nothing more than to be with their man and boy friends.

Phoney Baloneys, every one of them. Oprah needs to do a follow up on her Original down low show and have some of these "men" on as guests who personally participate in it.

Pass this list around, we all need to know this kind of stuff

47. @ Brad's comment "who gives a rat's ass"

Well .... first of all, we need to establish who you are. If you're a redneck, then of course you would not understand.

Rap music can both be good and bad. It's can inspire and it can also do damage. No different than any other type of music.

And if you need a point of reference to understand how important Biggie and 2Pac were to the Hiphop community. Let's travel back to 1970 ..... and imagine if the Beatles and the Rolling Stones had been murdered. Yes, they were that big to anyone who enjoyed their music.

Long live, Biggie and 2pac

49. Read Biggie's mother's book. Diddy has been shady for awhile. He was responsible for busting-up Biggie and Tupac's friendship, and ended up betraying him in the end. Big's mom had always told him to be careful. The only reason she isn't saying more, is because Diddy takes care of her. I also believe he sends Faith Evans some money on the regular, and that he will continue to take care of Shyne for taking the fall for him. I do not honestly believe that Tupac is deceased. The whole Makaveli album thing was his way of saying that he knew he had to get lost somewhere, or he would be murdered for sure. I am not buying the quickie cremation or burial or whatever the final version was. Too much of a coincidence, and too much "previously recorded" tracks that had not been laid down for way too many years. All of the stories sound just too fishy. I may be wrong, and hope I'm not offending anyone, but Pac is alive and well somewhere, I feel it. I do believe that Big is truly gone, though. I am also in agreement that Puff was not the devoted friend. I do not think that Diddy would have continued to be satisfied in a secondary role, even though he is an awesome producer. He wanted the SPOTLIGHT, and got it by any means necessary. I personally know people like that, and have been shocked to see the depths that they have sunken to, and the people they were willing to hurt along the way. Diddy will fall eventually, and TUPAC lives... Just an opinion

50. Does anyone even listen or know anything about Tupac on these comment pages??????? Tupac was actually a good guy that got involved socially with the wrong people! He is one of the greatest artists to have ever walked the planet. Sure most people that didn't really listen to him would think he was harsh, etc...but look at the world we live in!!!!!! He didn't start the violence and drugs on the street he just brought the problems in the streets on a world stage, so even people in the nicest neighborhoods would know. A lot loved him and some didn't. To get back to this topic of this news story: Pac was shot first in 1994, 5 times in a "robbery" while entering quad studios in new york to be on a track with a guy named Lil Shawn, being paid 7 G's in the process or so he was promised to get him to the studio. This studio was the same studio that Bad Boy worked out of. Now backgound of how this all came about. While Pac was making Above the Rim movie he was approached by a guy he calls nigel on the set telling him nigel will take care of him while he is out there to make sure he gets in no trouble (at the time Pac had already had a few run-ins with the law &/or his music was somehow the reason/cause that others were committing crimes, say what???) Nigel knew a guy named "Booker", as Pac referred to him as, who introduced him to Pac. They all started hanging together, going to clubs, etc. Pac was warned by a couple people to stay away from em cause they're no good, but one of those poeple warning already had affiliation with one, so he thought what the hell. They had the money, they had the weed, he thought they were cool. Some have accused Jaqcues Agnant (Haitian Jack) and Walter Johnson (King Tut) to be those two men. There was also a third man who people have suggested is Jimmy "the Henchman" Rosemond, that could be one of the said characters involved. All these men have affiliation with Bad boy or had affiliation at that time. Remember these 3 people were BIG time characters in NY. The LA times article implicates another man by the name of James "Jimmy" Sabatino, who sued Bad Boy for unpaid work, though he's in jail currently on other issues. They wanted Pac to sign with Bad Boy but Pac refused, this was before he was sentenced(which was the next day) to 2-4 yrs for touching a female's ass that gave him a blow job in the club days earlier...some coincidence this girl was introduced to Pac at the club by Haitian Jack and Haitian Jack was at the hotel when girl made her accusation that she was raped. Both were charged but they had seperate judges and court rooms, shortly after Pac's conviction of a lesser charge and sentencing Haitian Jack's case was dropped. This whole story is bigger then anyone ever thought...if nothing is connected there are a lot of coincidences that just keep poppin up. On the night Pac got shot he was paged throughout the night by "booker" to come to the studio. That they were waiting on him to get there. Pac made a couple stops and then got to the studio with his boy "stretch", and a couple other homeboys. In a vibe interview he said he felt uneasy about the situation at first cause one of the guys in there was cool wih one of the people Pac didnt like..until he saw lil Ceas from junior mafia yelling down to him, Pac said he was cool with him. He said there was a man outside in fatigues that barely looked at him and then another guy sitting down reading a newspaper on the inside, he didnt really look up either. While Pac and his 3 friends were waiting for the elevators the "robbery" happened. Pac said it was the two men he saw outside and sitting reading when he first came in. They shot him 5 times and kicked and hit him....which later made Pac think that "Stretch" somehow was in on it too or atleast knew. Some have speculated that "King Tut" was the man Pac didn't like and some have also speculated that "king tut" was the man who threatened Pac in his hospital room, which made him pre-release himself from the hospital against doctors orders and move to a safe location. When Pac went upstairs after the shooting he said everyone was there Biggie, Puffy, Andre Harrell and from that vibe interview he said none of them even came over to him or would look at him..that vibe interview is deep you should go back an read it. Whether or not you believe that Puffy or anyone affiliated wit Bad Boy knew or had something to do with it that is your choice, but the issue I think that needs to be looked at is the politics just to make music. If the music industry is this corrupt where artists for a passion for music cant make music without having to deal with these outside influences then what has come of the industry as a whole????????? And for fact based Pac died in Las Vegas in a shooting that too is unsolved and very questionable about how it all went down in 1996. RIP Pac.

54. My god, are you all retards?

Tupac was shot in 1994 (THE FIRST TIME), and survived. It was this reason that made him fall out with Biggie and Puffy in the first place. The one shooting that started the massive eastcoast versus westcoast feud to an entirely different level. For all of you that think this article is about the second shooting (his murder) then you are two things:

a) complete idiots that are commenting on something you know nothing about
b) incapable of reading

This news isn't "new", infact the last two years of Tupacs life it was all he would talk about, how biggie and puffy set him up, and that he wanted revenge because they are cowards. Its what the song 'hit em up' was about, the most famous diss song in rap. Everyone with the slightest bit of knowledge on the subject should know this story already.

Whats "new" is that for the first time they can evidence proving that Tupac was telling the truth the entire time.

57. I have never been able to truly appreciate any of p. diddy's music due to extensive research as an outcome of despair I had grieving Tupac as a teenager. I covered the gangs from the the east and the west in previous months before the shooting occured. I Believe Diddy is responsible for Tupac, not Biggie. As the storie goes, Biggie and Diddys gang killed Tupac and then the other coast gang retaliated against the Westside gang by going after Biggie. As a result, Diddy used the publicity from his best friends death to make millions (Cause we all know if you have enough money, you can get away with anything) and clean up his act while sweeping all the gang violence under the carpet. Now that Diddy is what some people with idiotic ideals call a (Mogul) he has nothing in the world to worry about except where to spend his bloodmoney.
