Thomas Jane Popped for DUI

TMZ has learned "The Punisher" star Thomas Jane was busted early this morning for DUI.

Jane, whose real name is Thomas Elliot, was nabbed in Kern County, Calif. by CHP officers just before 3:00 AM. He has been charged with DUI and driving with a blood alcohol level above .08% -- both misdemeanors.

CHP tells TMZ Jane was stopped in a late-model Maserati for driving at "an extremely high rate of speed" on I-5. We're told he failed several field sobriety tests, including a breathalyzer. Cops also say he was also driving with a suspended license.

A cooperative Jane was taken to the pokey and he's already out. His arraignment is set for April 9th.

Jane is married to actress Patricia Arquette.

16. We worked with him on Billy Crystal's " 61 ". He played Mickey Mantle, and was a nice guy to work with, but he had one strange habit. He never wore shoes unless he was forced to. He went to social occasions barefoot. For some reason the guy hated wearing shoes no matter where he went.

18. so sad, a has-been actor busted for a DUI in Bakersfield, armpit of California, Gateway to Fresno! They should have led him directly to jail, do not pass go, do not collect $200 for being the pathetic husband of a so-so actress.

24. That is very sad. Thomas is supposed to be a great, great man. Patricia is a lovely woman (I can say that as I have met her and chatted with her in person), who certainly does not ahve a horse face, and is gorgeous in person. Stunning, and a really wonderful woman.
Hopefully everything will work out.
His court date is the day after her 40th birthday.

25. This man is HOT -- beyond gorgeous! His stock goes even higher when one considers that he's married to a real woman like Arquette instead of some skinny stick of a Hollywood wannabe. Besides, I'm a fan of all of the Arquette's. They come off a bit more human that the usual Hollybots.

26. This guy's an idiot for driving drunk. What's worse is that night, he was stopped by CHP near Coalinga, CA and was let go...way to make the roads safe, officers! Thank God, this boozer was stopped in Kern County, before he caused an accident and killed someone. Sadly, as we know...when there's an alcohol related accident, the "innocent ones" are the ones killed and the drunk bastards are usually the ones that walk away from the accident without a scratch.

27. His fans (some of them... the dumb ones) are just making one excuse after the other for him.

"Several years ago, a friend of mine did an interview with him somewhat early on a weekday morning for a small local tv news show ( that will remain nameless for good reason). She said he was super, super nice to everyone, but was reeking of alcohol early in the morning and was the heaviest chain smoker she had ever seen. She said she would have totally thought he was a hottie if he wasn't drinking and smoking like a fiend. Hopefully he can chill both these things out before they kill him."

28. How sad for Patricia Arquette. She deserves better. I wish she would realize how valuable she is and stop picking these losers that obviously don't compare, much less have themselves together. It's better to be alone and happy, rather than with someone and miserable.
